Before upgrading vCenter Server or installing new plugins, administrators should check hardware and software compatibility matrices to identify any incompatible components that need uninstalling or replacing, or wait for updated releases. They should also check for compatibility of vCenter Server plugins, VMware Tools, hosts, and other VMware products like NSX and vRealize Suite products. If using a Platform Services Controller, it should be upgraded before vCenter Server.
