Web Design Tips For Beginners
Web design is a rapidly evolving business. SO to that end I would like to share with you my top
design tips of 2012.

Tip 1: ‘Responsive’ web design
Responsive web design is when the page layout of your website is re-formatted to match the type
of device that the visitors to your site are browsing with.

Mobile phones and tablets are an obvious example of this. The one thing to remember with
responsive with design it that your site should re-purposes itself depending on the device used to
view it. It should not just be a shrunken down version of the original website; one which you have
to keep zooming in and out in order to see the detail; it effectively re-purposes itself on the fly to
fit any device seamlessly.

Tip 2: Customised font choice
From a strictly web design perspective I would say that historically we have previously been
limited with the choice of font’s we were able to offer our clients. Things have actually changed for
the better. Nowadays, just like in print, a lot of web design agencies can use customised fonts. The
massive advantage of this is that there’s no end to the possibilities and can make any site stand out
as 100% unique.

Essentially now we can bring out the design aesthetics in line with your brand. There are no limits
really.

Essentially you can set style parameters so for example you could have a good bold font that you
haven’t seen before but it is fully editable, so he wants to change a headline or change a
subheading this is all possible now using unique fully customisable fonts.

Tip 3: Big Bold Imagery
My opinion is that the high-quality backgrounds and high-quality image pictures are really
starting to make comeback. It’s a really good way to get people into your website and to
showcase your brand very quickly. These days I tend to find that people want to look more photos
and they don’t tend to want to read as much. So by using big bold imagery it’s much easier to
showcase your products and tell stories in pictures rather than words. People seem to really be
getting into images and doesn’t really matter so much now with the quicker broadband speeds
which are available. It’s a technique I’ve been using for some time now and high-quality images
just do it for me, they just seem to present our product so well, and besides it looks much better
than a huge block of text.

So there you have it those are my top three web design tips for 2012.
