This document evaluates tools for classifying content on weblogs. It aims to assess how well weblogs implement technical solutions for using classification tools and provides an analysis framework for evaluating any open or proprietary content management system. The analysis defines required functionalities based on classification schemes, selects weblogs to evaluate, tests available functionalities empirically, and synthesizes the results. It presents matrices comparing various classification schemes and how well different weblog software implements them. The conclusions find that users prefer simple tools, social networking features, and focus on publishing over classifying, so blog software simplifies classification work.
