- 5. Z Website Basics β’ What is a website? β’ a website is a presentation tool; β’ a way to communicate; β’ a learning tool; β’ a teaching tool; β’ a marketing tool.
- 6. Z Website Basics β’ Before we do anything else, we need to spend time thinking about the 4Wβs. β’ What is the purpose of the website? β’ Who is our target audience? β’ What will bring our audience back? β’ Where will our audience be using the website?
- 7. Z Website Applications β’ Client β Side Application β’ Application on the WWW that run on the userβs server or computer and are executed by the browser installed on the userβs computer. β’ Example: JavaScript scripts are client- side because they are executed by the clientβs browser.
- 8. Z Website Applications β’ JavaScript β’ A scripting language used to design interactive websites. β’ It allows developers to create interactive objects such as pop-up boxes, mouse-over buttons, image maps, animations, and drop-down menus that display on the client-side.
