Week 6
In week six we as a group began to take the last of our still shoots for our storyboard. I helped out in the
adding of the other aspects of the storyboard development. This helped me gain a greater understanding of
the shooting of the film as although not the camera woman i could see what notions and portrayals which
                                            needed to be conveyed.

I also during week 6 made use of my spare time looking at thriller (/drama) short films and researched the
codes and conventions of them. My findings gave me three film which I would research “Kidnapped”
     (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=Z0bg0IeSLF8 ) a short film I found on
YouTube, which similar to our film had an estranged boy who has a fantasy of being with a girl who he then
kidnaps and expresses his feelings to her. Secondly I found a thriller (/action) film again on YouTube called
“Knowing too Much” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbVpNTwP1Ho ), this held similar aspects of the
potential locations and settings I want the filming to take place in; this should help use maximise the
suspension as this films is very dramatic and edgy. Lastly because of the editing and camera angles and shots I
will analysis a YouTube short film called “Childhood issues”

Last week I also talked with David the actor who plays “Kwame” telling him about the scenes he will be in what
each one requires him to do, as well arranging a time in which we would go to house and shot the scenes of
“Kwame” getting ready to meet “Sophia” before he strangles her. Due to his college and work commitments we
could not arrange a date to far in advance so decided to talk closer to the filming dates.

I also that week went to 3 potential locations for the killing scene, one being
                                                      Clapham common park:

(This location was suitable because we wanted the protagonist to be strangled by the antagonist while she was sitting down waiting anxiously. As well as the grassy open
area this will enable us to film without any obstruction or difficulty.)

                                                                          Pollards Hill Park:

(This location was fitting because of its isolation this will enable us encounter little interruptions as well as helping us build atmosphere with is high ground and hilly
situation. However we may come across lighting problems depending on the time we film. )

                                                         The Rookery, Streatham Common Park:

(This location was very attractive ad would give a eye-catching back drop it also is quite isolated; avoiding disruption and has good position for filming at a height. The leafy
walls will help romanticise the scenes will the dark night will add an unnerving and thrilling edge.)
