THE VALUE SYSTEM OF KINGDOM CITIZENS
Jer 9:23-24 AMP
(23) Thus says the Lord: Let not the wise and skillful person glory and
boast in his wisdom and skill; let not the mighty and powerful person
glory and boast in his strength and power; let not the person who is
rich [in physical gratification and earthly wealth] glory and boast in his
[temporal satisfactions and earthly] riches;
(24) But let him who glories glory in this: that he understands and
knows Me [personally and practically, directly discerning and
recognizing My character], that I am the Lord, Who practices loving-
kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth, for in these things
I delight, says the Lord. [I Cor. 1:31; II Cor. 10:17.]

• Intelligence/Wisdom, Power and wealth/riches are good
and needful to promote kingdom ends BUT we MUST
value something MORE than these things namely—
KNOWING AND UNDERSTANDING the King of the
Kingdom.
• The King owns/possesses ALL Wisdom, Power and
wealth/riches
• We must be fruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus
Christ

ANSWER: B’Cos that’s the most important thing
Jer 9:23-24 AMP

• Some “believers” put intelligence, power and riches
before knowing and understanding Him
• This EXPOSES a false value system
• It also exposes poor/ungodly priorities
• Something must be FIRST, everything else can come
second
• First we must KNOW and UNDERSTAND GOD (i.e. seek
the Kingdom and His Righteousness) Matt 6:33; Jer 9:23-
24
…and then ALL other things will be added

• A cart is a vehicle which is ordinarily pulled by a horse, so to put the
cart before the horse is an analogy for doing things in the wrong
order
• Many believers change the order prescribed by GOD himself and yet
expect all other things to be added to them
• This cannot work. He dictates our priorities—not we ourselves
• Stick to GOD’s order! First things First!
• The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing
• GOD’s kingdom & His Righteousness is the main thing and its
centers not on external matters principally but on our relationship

DEFINITION OF FIRST: SEEK FIRST

• From 2(a) in the definition, we see that amongst all
the things that influence and motivate us, God’s
Kingdom and His Righteousness must be …
first/chief/principal/prōton

ALWAYS KEEP HIS KINGDOM &
RIGHTEOUSNESS FIRST
QUESTION: IF WE OBEY THIS ADMONITION, WHAT IS
THE CONSEQUENCE?
ANSWER: Mat 6:33 But seek (aim at and strive after) first
of all His kingdom and HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS (His way of
doing and being right), and then all these things taken
together will be given you besides.
• QUESTION: WHAT ARE THE THESE THINGS?
• READ PREVIOUS VERSES FOR “THESE THINGS”

THESE THINGS that will be added include:
1. treasures on earth v18

OUR PRIMARY COMMISSION AND
APPOINTMENT IN LIFE
WHY GOD CHOSE, APPOINTED & PLANTED YOU

QUESTION: WHAT IS OUR PRIMARY COMMISSION,
CALLING, APPOINTMENT IN LIFE?
• Is it to marry, have children, a nice house a some cars
and a fat paycheck?
ANSWER: Your primary calling, appointment [the reason
HE chose you] is:
to SEEK FIRST His Kingdom and His Righteousness
QUESTION: How do we SEEK His Kingdom & His
Righteousness?
ANSWER: First step is bearing fruit that remains

• GOD placed each of us in
specific gardens in life—
spanning the 8 gates of
society
• We must bear fruit in all of
the gates in which he has
placed us but especially in
our understanding and
knowledge of GOD (the
King), His Ways and His
Kingdom

Joh 15:16 AMP You have not chosen Me, but I have
chosen you and I have appointed you [I have planted
you], that you might go and bear fruit and keep on
bearing, and that your fruit may be lasting [that it may
remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in
My Name [as presenting all that I AM], He may give it to
you.
WHY GOD CHOSE YOU & APPOINTED YOU

QUESTION: Why were you Chosen, Appointed, Planted by
GOD in His Vineyard, Kingdom ?
ANSWER: That you might go and bear fruit and keep on
remain, abide [Joh 15:16]
QUESTION: Why is bearing fruit important to the King of the
Kingdom?
ANSWER: Because
1. It is the root (starting place) of dominion
2. it is the beginning to SEEKING his KING-DOMINION &
HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS (HIS NATURE including His
VALUES)

YOUR ORIGINAL COMMISSION
Gen 1:28 AMP And God blessed them and said to
them:
1. Be fruitful
2. multiply
3. fill the earth
4. subdue it [using all its vast resources in the
service of God and man]; and
5. have dominion over waters, air, land

1. If you are NOT fruitful, then there is not seed to
propagate so multiplication occurs.
2. If you cannot multiply, you cannot fill the earth.
3. If you cannot fill the earth, you cannot subdue it.
4. If you cannot subdue it [using all its vast resources in
the service of God and man]; you cannot have KING—
dominion over waters, air, land etc.
5. Dominion is the end game here—the extension of the
dominion of the KING in all the domain (spheres)
where he has planted you

• Fruitfulness was and continues to be the ORIGINAL and
PRINCIPAL mandate
• GOD intends to have children in his image & likeness who will in
turn produce others in that same image of GOD, multiplying
themselves and filling the earth, subduing it and exercising the
dominion of the King over and within His domain

PLANTED IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
BEARING THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT

• As plantings of GOD or trees, where we are planted has
a lot to do with the fruit we bear
QUESTION: Where are we planted and how does it
affect fruit we bear?
ANSWER:
• When born-again we are planted near streams of water.
These streams/river(s) is the Holy Spirit
• This enables us to bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit which
becomes ONE with our Spirit

• Any tree [any believer] that feeds on Holy Spirit will bear
the Fruit of Holy Spirit
• The reason is because “he that is joined unto the Lord is
one spirit”—1Co 6:17 KJV.
• When we and Jesus’ spirit are one, we’ll bear the fruit of
the Spirit
• But for oneness to prevail, we must submit to GOD
• Let your roots feed on the Holy Spirit continually

QUESTION: WHERE were you planted?
ANSWER:
Psa 1:3 AMP And he shall be like a tree firmly planted
[and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth
its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither;
and everything he does shall prosper [and come to
maturity]. [Jer. 17:7, 8.]

Jer 17:7-8 AMP
(7) [Most] blessed is the man who believes in, trusts in, and relies
on the Lord, and whose hope and confidence the Lord is.
(8) For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters that spreads
out its roots by the river; and it shall not see and fear when
heat comes; but its leaf shall be green. It shall not be anxious
and full of care in the year of drought, nor shall it cease yielding
fruit.
QUESTION: Who qualifies to be planted by these rivers?
ANSWER: v.7 Anyone who believes in, trusts in, and relies on the
Lord i.e. those who are born again

WHAT ARE THE RIVERS BY WHICH WE ARE
PLANTED?
Joh 7:38-39 AMP
(38) He who believes in Me [who cleaves to and trusts in and
relies on Me] as the Scripture has said, From his innermost
being shall flow [continuously] springs and rivers of living water.
(39) But He was speaking here of the Spirit, Whom those who
believed (trusted, had faith) in Him were afterward to receive. For
the [Holy] Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus was not
yet glorified (raised to honor).

CONSEQUENCES OF BEING PLANTED BY THE
RIVERS OF GOD—DRINKING THE HOLY GHOST
1. You bear fruit in its season(you forgive when you have to! No
excuses! Gal 5
2. Your leaves shall not fade or wither
3. Everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity]
4. You shall not see and fear when heat comes
5. Your leaves are ever-green.
6. You shall not be anxious and full of care in the year of drought
7. You shall not cease yielding fruit—no menopause

Joh 6:63 AMP It is the Spirit Who gives life [He is the
Life-giver] … The words (truths) that I have been
speaking to you are spirit and life.
• To partake of the Holy Ghost (i.e. to drink the Holy
Ghost) is to partake of the very LIFE of GOD
• True LIFE comes from only GOD
• A believer whose roots drink the Holy Ghost will be filled
with the very LIFE that is in GOD—making him/her
evergreen and ever-lasting
• If situations tap you, only Holy Ghost should flow out of
you!

MAPLE TREE TAPPED & GIVING ITS SAP

WHEN YOU ARE TAPPED, WHAT COMES OUT

RUBBER TREE TAPED GIVES RUBBER

WE HAVE THIS TREASURE IN EARTHEN
VESSELS
• When we tap maple, we get maple syrup
• When we tap rubber trees, we get rubber
• When we tap you, what will be get?
2Co 4:7 KJV But we have this treasure in earthen
vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of
God, and not of us.

BEAR FRUIT
DO THIS WITH HASTE, DILIGENCE etc.

Eph 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be
[CONTINUOUSLY FILLED] filled with the Spirit;
• We are GOD’s plantings (trees of righteousness) planted by
rivers (Holy Spirit) but its up to us to drink so that our sap
influences our branches , leaves and we can bear fruit
• Don’t only drink but get drunk on the Holy Ghost
• Consciously PERMIT the Spirit to control you like alcohol
(spirits) control others (Rev 3:20)
• If He controls you, you have no choice but to bear His fruit—in
line with His nature
• Have you ever seen a mango tree struggling squeezing to bear
fruit? We shouldn’t either

• If the tree allows, the SPIRIT (what it drinks) will become ONE
with it’s spirit and the tree will effortlessly bear fruit—express
the values of GOD in all spheres of society
• These fruit contain LIFE

FRUIT: KINGDOM VALUES TO BE CULTIVATED

• The fruit as listed in Gal 5:22-23 are nine (9) and we’ll
discuss them next week.
• Another part of the fruit is listed in 2Pe 1:8-10 and was
the focus of last week’s discussions
• There are overlappings in both sets in Gal 5 and 2Pet 1

• In the Kingdom of GOD, the KING is the Executive, the Judiciary
and the Legislature (law giver) (Isa 33:22)
• The King judges because righteousness and judgment are the
foundations of his throne (Gen 18:25; Psa 89:14; Psa 97:2)
• JUDGEMENT can be negative or positive
• When we heed his instruction to bear fruit, the judgment is positive
• When we disobey, its negative
• The benefits of bearing fruit was the focus of last week’s seminar
• Some benefits have also been captured in previous slides
• The concluding section of today’s seminar will capture
consequences of not bearing fruit

CONSEQUENCES OF NOT
BEARING FRUIT
NOT IMBIBING AND EXPRESSING GOD’S VALUES AND
NATURE

• Rom 11:22 AMP Then note and appreciate the gracious
kindness and the severity of God: severity toward those who
have fallen, but God's gracious kindness to you--provided you
continue in His grace and abide in His kindness; otherwise you
too will be cut off (pruned away).
• What must you appreciate?
1. GOD’s Kindness
2. GOD’s Severity

• Many have been disciple by Hollywood and Church-ianity—not
by a personal study of GOD’s Word—building a personal
relationship with the King of the universe.
• It is good to appreciate the gracious kindness of GOD—but that
is only a part of Him
• His righteousness & justice maintains that we must also
appreciate the severity of God
• Severity toward those who have fallen, but God's gracious
kindness to you—provided (conditioned on whether) you
continue in His grace and abide in His kindness; otherwise you
too will be cut off (pruned away).
• His severity is that part of him which is not pleasurable but
GOOD for our wellbeing

• Because of first Adam, we are born crooked. He is straight. His judgment
(pruning) straightens us to be like him but the process of straighten is not
always pleasant
• Pro 22:15 KJV Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of
correction shall drive it far from him.
• When you fail to bear fruit (your primary appointment) by not allowing his
Spirit in you to bear fruit, He does not (judge) throw you away but he will
correct, discipline you so you can grow into greater responsibility
• If my daughter refuses to mature and become responsible, I cannot trust
her with greater responsibility i.e. my car because it could end her life but
does that mean I do not love her? No! I love her and because of that love,
I will keep the car from her discipline her
• If you want the high purposes of GOD manifest in your life, grow up

• We are JUDGED based on our adherence to or
departure from our original appointment
• Joh 15:16 AMP You have not chosen Me, but I have
chosen you and I have appointed you [I have planted
you], that you might go and bear fruit and keep on
remain, abide], so that whatever you ask the Father in My
Name [as presenting all that I AM], He may give it to you.
• It is adherence to your appointment that merits answered
prayers

ARE THERE REALLY CONSEQUENCES FOR NOT BEARING
FRUIT?
WE ARE THE LORD’S PLANTINGS IN HIS VINEYARD
• Mat 7:19 KJV Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is
hewn down, and cast into the fire.
• Mat 3:10 KJV And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the
trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is
hewn down, and cast into the fire.
• Joh 15:2 KJV Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he
taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it,
that it may bring forth more fruit.

Mat 7:13-24 AMP
(13) Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are
those who are entering through it.
(14) But the gate is narrow (contracted by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those
who find it. [Deut. 30:19; Jer. 21:8.]
(15) Beware of false prophets, who come to you dressed as sheep, but inside they are devouring wolves. [Ezek. 22:27.]
(16) You will fully recognize them by their fruits. Do people pick grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
(17) Even so, every healthy (sound) tree bears good fruit [worthy of admiration], but the sickly (decaying, worthless) tree bears bad
(worthless) fruit.
(18) A good (healthy) tree cannot bear bad (worthless) fruit, nor can a bad (diseased) tree bear excellent fruit [worthy of admiration].
(19) Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
(20) Therefore, you will fully know them by their fruits.
(21) Not everyone who says to Me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father Who is in heaven.
(22) Many will say to Me on that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name and driven out demons in Your name and done many
mighty works in Your name?
(23) And then I will say to them openly (publicly), I never knew you; depart from Me, you who act wickedly [disregarding My commands]. [Ps.
6:8.]
(24) So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts upon them [obeying them] will be like a sensible (prudent, practical, wise) man
who built his house upon the rock.

ARE THERE REALLY CONSEQUENCES FOR NOT BEARING
FRUIT?
Rev 2:5 KJV Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent,
and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove
thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Rev 2:5 AMP Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent
(change the inner man to meet God's will) and do the works you did
previously [when first you knew the Lord], or else I will visit you and remove
your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent.
The following verse shows He was speaking to His people
Rev 2:6-7 AMP Yet you have this [in your favor and to your credit]: you
hate the works of the Nicolaitans [what they are doing as corrupters of the
people], which I Myself also detest. (7) He who is able to hear, let him
listen to and give heed to what the Spirit says to the assemblies
(churches). To him who overcomes (is victorious), I will grant to eat [of the
fruit] of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. [Gen. 2:9; 3:24.]

WHAT IS THE LAMPSTAND?
• He will take away LAMP-STAND or CANDLE-STICK. WHAT then is
LAMP or CANDLE?
• It is what carries your spirit—its stand or stick
• Pro 20:27 AMP The spirit of man [that factor in human personality which
proceeds immediately from God] is the LAMP of the Lord, searching all
his innermost parts. [I Cor. 2:11.]
• Pro 20:27 KJV The spirit of man is the CANDLE of the LORD, searching
all the inward parts of the belly.
A candle without a lampstand or candle stick is abased and does not have
OIL or influence

• Psa 18:28 KJV For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD
my God will enlighten my darkness.
• Jesus is our High Priest. He lights our candle i.e. our
spirits—but disobedience can cause us to lose our
lampstand or the holder for the light
Mat 5:14-16 AMP
(14) You are the LIGHT of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
(15) Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, BUT ON A
LAMPSTAND, and it gives light to ALL in the house.
(16) Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and
your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and
glorify your Father Who is in heaven.

• If he takes away our lampstand or candlestick, we
cannot extend, project our light to the benefit of the world
• Lampstand → Influence
• If the light we are giving of is not full of the outraying of
his nature, he will not project it
• Take a stand and pay the price
