Evaluation means assessing or weighing up something to determine its value. When evaluating a media production, the entire process from concept to finished work must be thoroughly evaluated. This includes evaluating ideas, decisions, revisions, audience feedback, and personal responses at each stage of production, research, planning, and post-production. The evaluation should show how each stage impacted the others and how meaning was created for the intended audience. Effective evaluation examines both positive and negative aspects of the production process and decisions made, relating them to concepts, theories, and how effective they were at conveying the intended meaning.
