These photons represent the more traditional binary bits used to transmit information. Quantum properties cannot be looked at without being disturbed or changed, which makes the data transmission completely secure. It is impossible for a hacker to observe or change the photons without alerting the sender and intended recipient of the data. It is also impossible to copy whole particles, and each particle can exist in more than one state or place at a time. Quantum cryptography, while not yet in widespread use, should prevent hacking even against those using quantum computing. QUANTUM CRYPTOGRAPHY, WHILE NOT YET IN WIDESPREAD USE, SHOULD PREVENT HACKING EVEN AGAINST THOSE USING QUANTUM COMPUTING. When data is secured or transmitted using quantum cryptography it cannot be hacked. Computers using quantum cryptography rely on the principles of physics, rather than the more traditional mathematical forms of cryptography.
