But her mother insisted they wait until Rosieās birthday, which was still two months away. Rosie thought of kittens all day. She hoped hers would have blue eyes, fluffy fur, and a happy purr. One day, walking home from school she passed a neighbourās house and noticed a big cardboard box in the porch. Curious, she went closer and saw her neighbour, Mrs. Spencer, lifting a fluffy kitten from the box! Mrs. Spencer saw Rosie eyeing the box, so she waved her to come closer. āDo you want to hold it?ā Rosie nodded and held her arms out for the kitten.
