A Day At the Fair Personal Narrative
It is Thursday, August 24th, the opening day of the Minnesota State Fair. I am here with my
family, a friend and his mom, and one of my sister s friends. It seems so long since last year s fair. I
always look forward to the state fair, even though it s pretty much the same every year.
We park at the same man s house every year. His house is right behind the mini donut stand on
midway parkway, across the street from the main gate. As we pull into his driveway, I feel a pang
of excitement run through me, and when I get out, I can smell it. The smell is familiar, distinctive.

Main seating is in the middle, bleacher seating is on either end. It is designed as a racing arena,
so it is very wide and not good, in my opinion, for concerts. They had to put up large movie
screens on both sides of the stage because you can t see the stage from the bleachers. There is a
race every Labor Day, the last day of the fair. You can hear the cars from all over the fairgrounds

strap around your waist for extra support. The East Room is just a separate room with more of

worldwide. Serious complications are associated with untreated chlamydia such as pelvic
inflammatory disease (PID), infertility, and ectopic pregnancy. Most chlamydia infections are
asymptomatic for long periods.1 Some infections may progress causing complications, or may
resolve spontaneously without treatment also known as self cure. The article presents findings of a
perspective study to evaluate the association between spontaneous resolution and decreased
reinfection in women tested positive for chlamydia returning for treatment. The perspective study
was conducted between January 2008 and June 2011. Participants of the study were women 16
years of age or older positive for chlamydia. At enrollment of the study participants were tested for
chlamydia, given treatment, and scheduled for a 6 month follow up clinic visit for retesting. To
reduce confounding a 60 day max time interval was given between initial screening and treatment.
In most cases women receive treatment for chlamydia at the initial clinic visit if they have been
exposed to chlamydia. Only women who had not received treatment, not pregnant and no prior
hysterectomy were eligible for this study. About 20% of chlamydia infected patients observed
experienced spontaneous resolution of infection between the time of initial screening for chlamydia

When looking at these works they both give me a strange feeling. Goya s painting is more
depressing than anything, but it almost makes me feel proud of the man in the center as he
displays true heroism. The soldiers are comical to me as all I can think about upon looking at
them is the Winki Guard from the Wizard of Oz. The long coats and the tall fuzzy hats resemble
those from the movie. Caravaggio s painting is mysterious in the regard that the shadows conceal
the men looking and pointing toward Matthew. To add to it everyone around the table is looking at
them quite concerned and confused. Overall this painting doesn t really appeal to me in any

For this project our group was tasked with designing a tower under the parameters of a 40 cm
height minimum and 10 x 10 cm tower base minimum using bass wood and wood glue. The overall
aim was ultimately to design a tower with the greatest mass to weight ratio. The following consists
of the procedures, results, and conclusions of our designing, constructing, and testing stages.
After the tower was completed the mass of the structure was calculated to be at around 29.2 g
(0.06437498 lbs). Through the use of sand and metal weights (i.e. 8 lbs, 15 lbs, and/or 25 lbs) the

The building was created as a triangle since it would require less material and would be quicker to
create than building a four sided building.
The building stayed the same height through the sections and we felt that that would be the most
stable since the building would be able to compress upon itself instead of having to spend more
time to try and create a stable design that could withstand the forces. Even though we may be able
distribute weight with a larger base it would weigh more with a ratio that s not as good as what
we have or a ratio that has increased but compared with the effort and materials that we would need
it wouldn t be worth it.
The most difficult part of the construction was trying to connect the wall at a 60В° angle without
letting it fall on itself and keeping an even space through the tower. On the first attempt we
unfortunately broke the first section of the building and noticed the glue didn t glue at connection
where the wood would meet but around the wood. After connecting the two pieces together it was
simple to finish the tower but it involved a lot of waiting time since we weren t able to move on
when we connected the wall since it was unstable since the glue wasn t dry.
Another major difficulty we had was the large amounts of time spent waiting for the glue to dry.

Power is something that every human would like to acquire. The desire to earn power can be so
important for some individuals that they use violence to acquire it. Violence can often cause
jealousy, greed and hatred for each another. It is the violence of many humans that can lead them
into doing such unforgivable acts. In both the plays, William Shakespeare and Arthur Miller with
their famous novels, The Merchant of Veniceand The Crucible, have shown how Grudges and
Rivalries can cause such destruction in the lives of the people and the society in this play.
In The Merchant of Venice, Grudges and Personal Rivalries in the trial scene has clearly been
