Parents and caregivers are invited to bring their babies and share in this special time. At the Central Library: Mondays at 11:00 a.m. and Thursdays at 11:00 a.m. September 9th / 12th to November 25th / 28th Toddler Time (18 to 36 months) Toddlers are invited to bring a caregiver and join us for stories, songs, wiggles and giggles. Toddlers will have a great time listening and learning. - 4. Family Storytime (2 to 5 years) Family storytimes are aimed at children ages 2 to 5, but everyone is welcome to join us for a toe-tapping, finger-snapping good time! At the Central Library: Tuesdays at 9:45 a.m. and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. September 10th / 14th to November 26th / 30th Petticoat Creek Branch: Tuesdays at 10:15 a.m. and Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. October 1st / 5th to November 26th / 30th Kindergarten and Beyond! (3 to 5 years) This hands-on, six week program, is designed for parents/caregivers and their children to learn important early literacy skills that will help children to succeed in school. Parents/caregivers will learn fun activities they can do at home with their child to continue the early literacy learning. Parent/caregiver participation is required. Previous attendance at storytime recommended. Children must be between the ages of 3 and 5 upon registering. Younger siblings are not allowed to attend. Registration is required. If you want to motivate students who enjoy reading; get a team together and match wits with some of the best readers in town or even across the Durham Region! The Battle of the Books is hosted at two levels: the junior division is for students in grades 4 - 6 and the senior division is for students in grades 7 and 8.
