This document proposes revamping the Common European Asylum System by collaborating with states in Eastern Europe and creating a list of safe countries of origin. It analyzes four approaches: amending the Dublin Regulation, writing a new asylum system, joint processing programs, and increasing responsibility of Bosnia and Albania. The recommended approach emphasizes opening cooperation with Eastern European states like Albania and Bosnia to address cultural barriers while offering them economic incentives. It also advocates continuing to establish a common list of safe countries of origin to streamline the asylum process. This balanced approach aims to resolve issues over cultural differences, economic stresses, and population pressures within the EU.
