Networking Fundamentals
WEEK 2: An Overview of Networks
Quick review question cover the material in the associated lecture notes and are to
help the student identify the topics covered. They do not represent exam type
questions; do not worry if you have difficulty with some of them. You can use them
to raise awareness of the things you need to find out.
Do not spend to long on any one question. Most of the solutions are a sentence to a
paragraph long. Jot down your answer (plus any observations, e.g. Need to check this;
why is that important?; What processes is this related to?...) beside the question. If
you do not know the answer put a comment down to help your reflections later.
You may choose to work through the questions with one or more colleagues, in which
case they can form the basis for discussion of the ideas around the question. For
example you may know what an acronym stands for, but what process is it associated
with etc?
The solutions of the Quick Review Questions will be supplied one week after the
question sheet has been handed out.
Copies of the questions and the solutions will be made available on Blackboard.
