Dr. Alex Bennet 
Former Chief Knowledge Officer, U.S. Department of the Navy 
Professor at Bangkok University’s Institute of Knowledge and 
Innovation Management 
Dr. Alex Bennet is Professor, Knowledge and Innovation Management, at Bangkok University and 
Visiting Professor at Rotterdam University in the Netherlands. She is the former Chief 
Knowledge Officer and Deputy Chief Information Officer for Enterprise Integration of the U.S. 
Department of the Navy, simultaneously serving as internal consultant for the U.S. government 
and Co-Chair of the Federal Knowledge Management Working Group. Dr. Bennet led innovative 
Navy and Marine Corps enterprise knowledge technology and information management efforts 
that transformed the DON as it entered the 21st century. “Her singular mastery of the 
complexities of this vital force multiplier function effected unequaled advances in DON’s 
operations.” Dr. Bennet is Co-Founder/Director of the Mountain Quest Institute located in the 
Allegheny Mountains of West Virginia focused on achieving growth and understanding through 
quests for knowledge, consciousness and meaning. Dr. Bennet has authored hundreds of papers 
and co-authored five books with her partner Dr. David Bennet. She has degrees in Human and 
Organizational Systems, Human Development, Management for Organizational Effectiveness, 
English Literature and Marketing; serves on multiple international advisory boards and 
committees, keynotes around the world. 
Professor W.B. LEE 
Chair Professor and Director 
Knowledge Management and Innovation Research Centre 
Prof. Lee established the Knowledge Solution Laboratory in the PolyU-Microsoft 
Enterprise Systems Centre, the first of its kind in Hong Kong and has pioneered research 
and practice of KM in Hong Kong for various industrial sectors which include manufacturing, 
trading, public utilities, various government departments and health care. He is currently the chief 
editor of the International Journal of Knowledge and Systems Science, co-Editor of the Journal of 
Information and Knowledge Management Systems, and associate editor of the International 
Journal of Learning and Intellectual Capital and Learning. His research interest includes 
manufacturing technology and strategy, knowledge management, organizational learning, 
intellectual capital-basedmanagement and open service innovation.
