“No One Knowingly Does Evil” by Socrates. Essay
The argument which I am focusing on is titled No One Knowingly Does Evil and is written by
Socrates. This argument concludes that those who do evil things do them involuntarily. That is, people
do not necessarily want to do evil things, but do them against their will. A very important point is
presented by Socrates in that evil deeds are not done willingly. It is thought by many that some people
are simply evil natured and commit evil deeds because they want to. However, Socrates is arguing that
this is not true. By doing this, he is going against common thought and presenting a very debatable
conclusion. I will evaluate the argument so as to prove it is a legitimate possibility for the conclusion
to be true. It will be shown why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I think the key to this statement being false is the word all. Sometimes, people want to cause harm to
someone else in order to get back at them or to serve justice. If they think they are justified, that
person would be more willing to commit an evil act. The second premise, in my opinion, is true. I do
not think that a person, without outside influence, would simply do something which they do not want
to. If it is not something a person wants to do, chances are it won t be done. Therefore, I think this
premise is true. When evaluating the entire argument as a whole, I determined it to be valid. It is
logical to move from premise one to premise two and develop the provided conclusion. Even though I
believe premise one to be false, the argument is still valid. This is because, if it were true, it would
make sense to draw that conclusion from those two statements. The conclusion does not present any
new information not given in the premises either. The argument automatically becomes unsound
because premise one is false. It is impossible for the argument to be sound by definition.
I believe one objection would be that in certain circumstances there are dire needs. That is, someone
would do an evil deed because it was absolutely necessary. For example, if a family had been
kidnapped, there would be everything done in order to bring them home safely, even if some of it
involved a form of evil. This

In the film Gladiator (Scott, 2000), there are several scenes that allow the audience to see why is this
movie considered a melodrama. The first time that the audience sees a complex scene with elevated
dialogues and mixed emotions is when Commodus murders his father the Cesar after knowing that he

Hypatia Research Paper
Hypatia of Alexandria was one of the first female mathematician, astronomer, and philosopher in her
time. She, also, was one of the prime female mathematicians, in her time, to have existing records of
her life and work. Hypatia was born 350 or 370 CE in Alexandria, Egypt and died in 414 CE. During
that time period, Hypatia defied all odds in the educational field. However, even though Hypatia made
many achievements, she is most known for her infamous death.
Her father Theon of Alexandria was also a mathematician and an astronomer. He was one of the last
professors who taught at the University of Alexandria before the tragedy took place. Theon, in his
field of work, edited and commented on the final solutions text in math to make it easy for his students
to learn. Later on, Hypatia contributed to his later edition according to Hypatia: Great Mathematician

An American By Thomas Friedman Analysis
What is an American? Thomas Friedman, Steven Critchley, and other say that America is falling, we
are all violent animals. Yes. As Americans, we fight, we bully, we have nasty arguments, because we
hold a different opinion or said something slightly offensive. We find it easier to raise our fist than to
raise our dignity and peacefully talk or walk away. There are cases of violent acts all over the news,
movies, music, TV, and social media. Violence is a problem within our commutes, however violence
is not what makes an American or what defines America. It is our ability to come together in the face
of adversity, in our darkest hour, that moment when everyone expects us to be out of the count, we
pick each other up and fight back. For that we as Americans are big brothers we fight or bully each
other but when someone else threatens or harms our fellow Americans we stand up and do everything
in our power to make amends. No matter if it s a person, another country, or mother nature.

Jetblue s Good Service Quality
ABSTRACT (Isabelle Aultman and Ben Cvek) In any business service quality is going to make or
break the company in the long run. JetBlue has great ideas on how to compete and how to be lower
priced while still gaining profit. Customer and provider gaps are all about what a customer expects,
what a customer perceives, what a customer is willing to accept, what a company understands about
those expectations, a company s communication both internal and external, and the company systems
and processes (Zeithaml, et al.,2013).
Although JetBlue had good service quality in place for the most part, it lacked the proper processes
and systems to properly provide support. Ultimately, customers had expectations and were not willing
to accept the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, JetBlue targeted large metropolitan areas with high average fares to compete with the
larger airliners. Even small things such as more seats and a more fuel efficient aircraft increased
profits. Things seemed to be running great for JetBlue as they increased the number of destinations.
All of these things kept JetBlue profitable. It seems as though JetBlue has strayed from their original
core values, although, the company seems to be on the way to resolving the issues that plague them.
STRATEGIC PROFILE (John Beck and Admira Salazar)
Starting Off In the Right Direction
Jet Blue was birthed in 1999 by David Neeleman and went public in 2000 as an independently owned
and operated Airline. Headquarters is located in Long Island, New York with its main base at John F.
Kennedy International Airport with most of the flights occurring in the United States and the
Caribbean (Docslide, 2015).
From its very essences, JetBlue showed high signs of profitability, initially the company set out to sell
over five and a half million shares at an average of $25 per share. However, the company actually
topped off at $27 dollars selling almost 6 million in shares. Being in the airline industry means the
level of competition is high, so JetBlue wanted to establish itself as a high end airline with

The Great Impact On Native American Nation And The United...
Since the beginning of time mankind has fought with itself, whether it be through disagreements,
disrespect, feuds, or even over the smallest of matters. For example, one of the biggest feuds in
American history that just ended recently was between the Hatfield s and McCoy s. This just shows
you how petty, ignorant, and uncivilized we as a people can become. However, the greatest and most
crucial feud of all was between the entire Native American Nation and the United States of America.
This war of hate and disrespect towards tribes of people and their culture is uncalled for and has left a
stain that will last forever in time. We choose not to realize the great impact it had on the Native
American Nation, and most of what really happened is not mentioned in the text books that we have
today. Instead we focus more on the three main academics which are reading, writing, and arithmetic.
Doing so has left many people clueless about the events that have occurred in the past, and I think the
main reason for this is caused by the American government being embarrassed about what they did to
a people who meant no harm, a culture that only lashed out due to the European American settlers
drawing first blood. This is why I decided to do my essay on this topic. The truth needs to be heard,
and the reasoning for all the massacres, the violation of countless treaties, and how we impacted the
way of life for the Native Americans needs to be told. Why did we do this to a culture? The

Mainstreaming Of Children With Disabilities
Mainstreaming of Children with Disabilities One of the most important factors in a well, social
functioning child with a disability is education. Proper education will offer a child the opportunity to
be successful on a higher level than a child without an education. When a child enters the school
system they are entering in an environment that is unfamiliar and challenging. Children with physical
disabilities and lack of full cognitive reasoning, sense their differences around other children.
According to Welsh, Parke, Widaman, O Neil, 2001; Social ability can have a significant impact on a
child s academic success in the classroom . Social skills are a very important factor when it comes to
educating children with disabilities. Lack of social skills could show feelings of anxiety and
depression which will affect their learning. A child with anxiety and or depression would probably be
noticeable to other children causing social awkwardness. Physical disabilities can also be a social
challenge in any setting, curiosity of the unknown by surrounding children can present insecurities for
a child with a physical disability. This may cause a child to retreat from social activities, because they
fear the questions, staring and difference of treatment. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
was signed into law on July 26, 1990, by President George H.W. Bush. This act was modeled after the
Civil Rights Act of 1964, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of

Was Tsar Nicholas Emperor Unfit
Tsar Nicholas II of Russia: An Emperor Unfit to Rule Ravaged Russia At the end of the nineteenth
century, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia reluctantly took command of an empire overflowing with
revolutionaries who were seeking change in response to hardships that their nation was facing. His
timid personality, coupled with his lack of political education and military experience, made him unfit
to calm the war fueled chaos that would soon envelop Russia. Nicholas series of unfortunate,
unprepared and uninformed decisions began with his marriage and eventually ended with his decision
to abandon the capital to lead his armies, ultimately leading to the demise of his imperial family s
three hundred year dynastic tradition. The turn of the century illuminated Russia, commonly labeled
as backwards by the other European powers, as the last remaining European autocracy. Russian
society still operated on the estate system, which was characterized by an enormous gap between the
upper class nobility and the lower class peasantry. Peasants comprised eighty percent of the population
and only a fraction were educated. They had little understanding of government and were highly
patriarchal. Many served as serfs. It was not until the 1860s that these serfs were freed from legal
bondage by Nicholas grandfather, Alexander II. However, this was not enough to satisfy Russian
citizens newfound taste of freedom. In the years following, they demanded he establish an elected

Metaphors and Repetition in Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night
In Dylan Thomas Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night, the speaker is a son talking to his aging
father and pleading with him to fight against death. The son knows that death is the inevitable end to
every life, but feels one should not give up to death too easily. By using metaphor, imagery, and
repetition, Thomas reinforces the son s message that aging men see their lives with sudden clarity and
realize how they might have lived happier, more productive lives. These men rail against fate, fighting
for more time to set things right.
The son uses dark and the end of day as metaphors for death. He ... Show more content on

Wise men know that death is appropriate, but they do not embrace it. These wise men fight death
because they feel their words have not been adequate enough to touch or illuminate others. The son
creates a visual image of the inadequacy wise men feel upon realizing their words have not
enlightened others their words had forked no lightning. The son also mentions good men who do not
die peacefully. These men despair that their feeble deeds did not accomplish enough. Even though
they were good men, they feel they could have done so much more if given the time.
The son next tells his father how wild and grave men also struggled with death. Wild men spent their
lives frivolously, wishing time on its way. They learn when it is too late that they hurried time too fast
and now they cannot recapture what they so wantonly spent. Their lives were foolishly wasted. The
son also mentions grave or serious men who review their lives with a swift lucidity when death is
upon them. These solemn, sober men now realize life could have been more joyous had they been a
little more blind. If life is taken a little less seriously, one could blaze like meteors and be gay.
Repetition at the end of each stanza is effectively used to reinforce the message to fight back against
death. The son implores his father to hang on any way he can and begs him to use joy or tears or anger
to remain in this life. Other men, be they wise or frivolous, serious or

Functionalism Vs Conflict Theory Essay
In sociology, the Functionalism and Conflict theory both explain the way society functions as a whole.
While interactionists perspective explains why society functions the way it does as well, it is more of
the explanation of why individuals function and interact the way they do in society, and how one can
be influenced and what influences one another.
Functionalist see society like the human body. In the same way that the body relies on the lungs to.
Death and distribute oxygen throughout the body and brain, functionalist also see society similarly as
being constructed of different interdependent components such as education, religion, and family. Just
as the human body would stop functioning if the lungs stopped breathing or the heart stopped
pumping blood throughout the body, society would also fail if education, family, or even religion was
no longer functioning. This shows that everything in the society in which we take place in, plays a
specific and important role in the world and social construct in which we live in which can be
explained as functionalism. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Under the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act of 1996 (PRWORA),
Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) replaced AFDC, ending some Federal responsibility
to welfare assistance. States operate their own programs; determine eligibility services to be provided
to needy families, within Federal guidelines. The Federal government cannot regulate the conduct of
states except to a few requirements, and states have a wide latitude in administering the program to

Under this Act, states are awarded for increasing the number of children below 200 percent of poverty
who reside in married couple families (Nathan Gais, 1999). This measure is based on the theory that
children in single parent homes are at greater risk than those in two parent families and the best
solution is marriage. In short, the federal government is rewarding states for encouraging marriage, a
very personal decision. How do states measure the results of having more couples getting married?
Over the past five years, the federal government has also found it difficult to measure improvement in
states. Currently, success is based in terms of job entry rate or increases over time in job entry rate,
retention rate, and earnings gain. States may use quarterly unemployment insurance wage records,
surveys, administrative records, or a combination of those data sources. States are given wide latitude
in the sources of information they report. Also, to further distort the findings, there is no baseline data
with which to make comparisons (Danziger, 2000).
Whose interests are best served by the current welfare requirements? TANF encourages states to
provide assistance to those welfare recipients who are most likely to succeed at employment, ignoring
individuals who are harder to place. In order to show increases in employment and wage rates, the

kingdom. This idea of causality is explored within lines 1440 to 1490 of Beowulf as its eponymous
character prepares for battle against Grendel s Mother. Through reinforcing the significance of
weaponry and armor, the importance of protecting both self and legacy, and the impact characters have
on others choices of the future, this passage develops the motivation behind the choices of the
characters throughout the poem centering on their continual focus on leaving a legacy through their
future actions. The passage s colorful descriptions of weapons ... Show more content on

These acknowledgements develop the complex relationship between desiring a safe future for oneself
but also the desire to provide a safe future for others. Beowulf begins the passage indifferent to death,
focused on achieving his task of killing Grendel s Mother (1442). This indifference, attributed to the
story s most well loved character, implies that warriors should focus on the tasks ahead of them rather
than the distant future. However, when considering the fight s impact on the future, Beowulf equally
wishes to protect himself and those around him. He specifically wears his helmet to guard his head
during the fight, protecting and emphasizing the most important aspect of his body (1448). Beowulf
for the first time acknowledges that he has become more than a warrior. He symbolizes his motivation
to protect his thoughts and essence and takes action to prepare for the tumultuous future dependent on
not just his strength, but his being.Contrasting Beowulf s regard for the future is Unferth s lack of
forethought when he was not man enough to risk .. his life (1467 1468). Because Unferth places more
value in his own life than his legacy, he is seen as lesser than Beowulf. This explains Unferth earlier in
the story, as his ignorance again causes him to resemble an enemy when he allows himself to become
jealous and enraged at Beowulf. In addition to implying that risking one s life is positive, this
acknowledgement of risk foreshadows future risks in the story and provides reason for each one: to
form a better future. The relationship between protection of self and legacy throughout the novel is
further complicated when Beowulf states that he shall gain glory or die fighting Grendel s Mother
(1491). By offering two options, Beowulf begins to prove that he is a flawed character and further
states his insecurity. both his future legacy and his present

Food Bank Use in Canada
Food Bank Use in Canada
According to Food Banks Canada, food bank usage has soared to 28% in the past three years, with
more than 850,000 Canadians making use of a food bank in a typical year (Ontario
Healthy Communities Coalition, March 2012). One of the biggest contributors to why individuals
depend on food banks is their social economic status of lower class and poverty. Although this is a big
contributor, there are many more major social determinants that contribute to food bank usage outside
of social economic status designation. I believe the other three most important determinants that
contribute to usage of food banks are education, employment/working conditions and physical/social
environment.
The different levels of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Even though socio economic status is a huge determinant of food bank usage, I believe that education,
employment/working conditions and physical/social environment are also contributing determinants
for this case. Food banks are initially started to help those in need, but
I believe that federal and provincial governments should furthermore improve economic growth to
increase the likely hood of individuals finding and sustaining a full time job. With this change,
increased employment would help reduce the use of food banks and improve the quality of life of
individuals.

Steven Spielberg Impact
As one of the directors who paved the way during the new Hollywood film era, Steven Spielberg s
ranges of work have impacted the film industry. Spielberg is no stranger to controversy throughout his
carrier, but nonetheless is known as a director who demonstrated his unique vision for film through
science fiction and adventure while remaining the child like innocence that almost anyone can relate
to. Spielberg is notorious for telling his story through reoccurring themes: parent children
relationships, ordinary people becoming the hero of the plot, and facing extraordinary situations in the
face of all odds. Spielberg has a way of connecting with his audience by depicting that even the
typical everyday person can turn out to be someone who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Spielberg s film techniques remain even throughout a film like this one. He s known for his strong
lightings, the notorious Spielberg face when he zooms on a character s face, and a unique uses of
frames. The film is said to have to be rich with successive shots of the presidential figure walking
away along...heading towards a distant light (Dean 311) which comes as no surprise because Spielberg
is known to add these touches within his works. Spielberg took it upon himself to remain true to the
timeline of the story by making sure the movie produces angular light produced by gas lights,
sputtering candles, chuckling fireplaces, windows, and open doors that would have existed in the mid
nineteenth century (Dean 310). This is the essence of who Spielberg is as a director. He consistently
pays attention to the little details which overall give a realistic look to the setting where the film takes
place. All of these trademarks that make a Spielberg film one of his own, is evident throughout all his
works, even in Lincoln. The movie gained a lot of feedback both negative and positive because it
exists as a big money maker for Hollywood and as liberal meditation on the current debate on the
nation s bipartisanship and conflicting ethics (Dean 310). However, Spielberg was applauded for
creating Lincoln as a successful history lesson for a

Controversy Surrounding the Use of Contraception
Introduction
From the time when it became available the near the beginning of the 1960s, oral contraceptives,
commonly called the pill, have opened possibilities that had were shut to females for all of times gone
by. Possibly more than any other sole factor, the pill has made it likely for women to be in charge of of
their own lives and to attain their prospects. Nowadays, 100 million women all over the world use the
pill. Nonetheless, there are emergencies ensuing from rape or failure to use contraceptive plans. There
are in addition emergencies ensuing from accidental consensual sex. In spite of everything, the human
sexual desire was fashioned by evolution to guarantee procreation, and it works extremely fine. Given
the correct psychological stimulants, pretty much everyone, counting presidents of the United States
and well known religious leaders, will jeopardize it all for an illicit sexual rendezvous (Drazen, et al.
2004). To be adamant that society rely exclusively on self restraint more willingly than contraception
is to refute a nature beside which the gods themselves are unable to compete. The whole history of
humanity can be interpreted as evidence to the influence of that nature.
Plan B was produced to cover emergencies, no matter what their reason. It turned out to be obtainable
by prescription in 1999. Millions of women have ever since found Plan B to be harmless and efficient
if ingested after intercourse but sooner than a spermatozoon enters the membrane

Genocide In Sarajevo

The Effects Of Deep Sea Mining On Earth
David Richardson said Gold and silver like other commodities have an intrinsic value which is not
arbitrary, but is dependent on their scarcity, the quantity of exertion bestowed in procuring them, and
the value of the capital employed in the mines which produce them.
Deep sea mining is a process to retrieve minerals from the ocean floor at a thousand or more of the
surface. Deep sea mining is constituted the largest and least understood biological habitat on Earth and
has become an environmental risk with the impacts of deep sea mining have been enormous and
unavoidable because of the seabed habitat degradation around vast ocean areas, species extinctions,

Superstitions In Asian American Culture
In the dictionary, the definition for superstation is states as, a widely held but unjustified belief in
supernatural causation leading to certain consequences of an action or event, or a practice based on
such a belief. In my opinion I believe superstitions are beliefs or legends passed down over time that
been carried by your past ancestors. Every culture is different, so everyone s beliefs are different as
well. But there are some cultures that have common superstitions. Some superstitions are very hard to
believe, and some that are very understandable. Superstations can be divided in different subtopics.
Asian Americans have general superstitions that they do on a daily schedule. Dreams are a form of
superstitions for the reason that certain items or events you dream of have a certain meaning behind it.
There are different ways of receiving good luck and that is another type of superstations because as an
individual you believe by doing certain things you will receive good luck. Superstations can be

to create certain beliefs within your culture. Every community has different believes. For example

Analysis of the Poem Crossings, by Judith Ortiz Cofer
The theme of poem Crossings, by Judith Ortiz Cofer is evaluating and reacting upon the tough
decisions that come up in life. The cracks represent the flaws you can find and the inevitable accidents
that will occur. But each day more and more fissures / crisscross your path, and like the lines/ on your
palms, they mean something. (6 8) These lines show that each days more incidents and troubles, the
fissures , will come up in your life, the bad things will happen in your life time, crisscross your path,
and like the lines on your palms, they mean something, however, every time you experience a bad
accident or disaster, which it seems at the time, you will learn something. It also seems like fate is a
big theme in this piece and the human reaction to fate s doings. On lines 8 and 9, on your palms, they
mean something/ you cannot decipher, shows fate s working in manufacturing these cracks. What they
incidents mean, or what you can learn from them however, is still a mystery because it is brought on
by fate, such as the example of lines on your palms, and how some people believe they are a
representation of one s future. The lines Finally you must choose between / standing still in the one
solid spot / you have found, or you keep moving / and take the risk: / Break your mother s back. (10

Saltwater Crocodile Research Paper
The Saltwater Crocodile The saltwater crocodile is one of the largest non mammalian creatures. It also
lives to about 70 years and weighs about 1200 pounds for a male, and 200 pounds for a female. The
length of a male varies between 14 17 ft. While the females length is between 7.5 11 ft. All of these
numbers are of averages of adult saltwater crocodiles. Now I will compare four systems of a crocodile
to a human. In the circulatory system, the crocodile has a four chambered heart, as well as a double
looped circulatory system. They breathe using their lungs in and under water. The saltwater crocodile
can be submerged for quite a while. Up to 8 hours as the longest recording ever known. They use
conservation of the oxygen and can survive in some sub temperature ponds. This occurs when the
crocodile heads too far north. As for humans, we can obviously breathe using our lungs as well.
Though we can not submerge and conserve oxygen as a crocodile can. It is the same concept anyway,
just made for their own habitat. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It all starts at the super strong jaw of the saltwater crocodile. It can just brutally snap bones of a once

It needs this due to the way it devours animals. It goes to the intestines that sort out what is needed
and what is not needed. Finally, to remove and dispose the waste, it leaves through the cloaca. All of
the main digestive parts are the same to humans, except for the cloaca, or human anus. It is pretty
similar, but the crocodile has more of a incomplete disposal. We have a full one, depending on what

book, snobby and arrogant. Now I have the impression

Every organization has risks and it is extremely critical for them to identify what these risks are and to
mitigate and avoid further damages in case of disastrous events. These disastrous events can be
prevented by designing and implementing a robust security monitoring system and utilizing industry
proven practices and activities. Information Security refers to safety of information in terms of
confidentiality, integrity, availability, and non repudiation (Byrnes amp; Proctor, 2002). This document

The state monitoring can cover the analysis of security policies, access controls put in place, password
requirements, network security controls, permissions, viruses, and inappropriate files such as
unnecessary image, music, videos, and other multimedia files. The system must also be able to
examine any workstation s current installed applications and determine whether or not updated
versions exist. Any unnecessary or redundant data from the logs must be extracted out as well.
Security monitoring does not just stop at the monitoring level. The security system must be able to
protect the data collected from the security monitoring system itself. Any vulnerabilities and holes will
leave the security monitoring system ineffective and render it useless, especially in cases of
modification and tampering. Tampered data will never result to meaningful conclusions. Activity data
must be confidential and regarded as sensitive. The system must be able to compare negative and
positive data and figure out which priority levels are given to each data and event. Another important
aspect is that the security monitoring systems and activities do not hinder or get in the way of the
business operations (Fry, amp; Nystrom, 2009).
In an event of intrusion or security disaster, a security audit must be put into action immediately to
avoid further damages. The first thing to conduct is to confirm that a security breach or

Analysis Of Katharine Kolcaba s Comfort Theory
Comfort theory was created in the 1990 s by Katharine Kolcaba who was performing research on the
analysis of comfort across many disciplines (Petiprin, 2016). From her research, she created a theory
of nursing based upon three major forms of comfort that humans need to achieve wellness (Petiprin,
2016). They include: relief, ease and transcendence. Relief is the feeling obtained by patients as needs
are being met (Petiprin, 2016). Ease is what patients feel when they are relaxed and have the sense of
comfort that their needs have been met and they no longer need to feel anxious (Petiprin, 2016).
Transcendence is the ability for patients to use their sense of comfort to rise above any struggles and
conflicts they may be facing (Petiprin, 2016). Overall, Kolcaba defines her theory and comfort in
general as the immediate state of being strengthened through having the human needs for relief, ease,
and transcendence addressed in four contexts of experience (physical, psychospiritual, sociocultural,
and environmental) (Kolcaba DiMarco, 2005). By using this theory in a hospital environment,
Kolcaba hoped that comfort levels would be increased for all patients, staff and visitors and that

Comparing Beaks Of Eagles And Sara Teasdale s Poem The Flight
In Robinson Jeffers poem The Beaks of Eagles and Sara Teasdale s poem The Flight , both authors
incorporate an eagle to explore the human fundamentals of love and attachment. Jeffers utilizes the
eagle in a way to explain the ideas of independency and the idea of moving on: her mate was shot long
ago, she is now mated with a son of hers (7 9). Teasdale, however, uses the eagle to explore the
themes of dependency. He depicts that if one dies the other can not live without them: When one of us
goes, Let the other follow. (13 14) Both convey these themes with a melancholic tone as too show
how in the end, death is what tests the nature of human beings. In The Beaks of Eagles , Jeffers
portrays the eagle as an independent being. The being in this case represents a woman who has seen
the worst in the world but still manages to stay intact: The she eagle is old, her mate was shot long
ago, she is now mated with a son of her . (7 9) This notion conveys the fact that she has seen death and
did not let it wound her forever. Jeffers goes on further to say that ... Show more content on

The utilization of the eagle in Robinson Jeffers The Beaks of Eagles represents the true idea of an
eagle, free and independent. Jeffers writes: To try all changes, progress and corruption, powers, peace
and anguish, not to go down the dinosaur s way. (31 32) He furthers wants to back up the fact that the
woman in his poem did not give up during the major travesties in her life. She push forward. Contrary
to Jeffers poem, Sara Teasdale s The Flight uses the eagle to represent the state of intense happiness
and freedom the speaker experienced in her relationship, but when death took her suitor, she could not
bare the thought of being alone: When one of us goes, Let the other follow, Let the flight be ended,
Let the fire blacken, Let the book close.

The Health Of The Livestock Production Of Poultry Carrying...
The Acute phase proteins are produced as the develop of a response caused after a variety of
conditions stimulated by inflammatory cells producing chemical substances that activate specific
organs to produce these proteins to reconstitute homeostasis and thus restore the injured tissue. Even
though the Acute Phase Response generated is not specific for each determined disease, the
measurement of these proteins in an animal may indicate the occurrence of an unhealthy condition,
and a further diagnosis and prognosis of the illness could be accomplish. Regarding veterinary public
health, the livestock production represents a significant field from where products for human
consumption are provided. Thus, the measurement of these proteins in ... Show more content on

These are plasma proteins which are released into the blood stream, mainly produced in the liver by
the hepatocytes (Cray et al., 2009) as part of the Acute Phase Response (APR), that either increase or
decrease in response to the tissue damage (Jain et al., 2011; Stahl, 1987; Gruys et al., 2005). The APR
is a non specific and complex systemic reaction, part of the early defense or innate immune system,
which is triggered by different stimuli such as infections, trauma and inflammations in order to
reconstitute homeostasis and induce healing (Cray et al., 2009; Tothova et al., 2014). As well as in
humans, APP in animals are sensitive to similar triggering events in response to inflammatory stimuli.
A variety of APP have been recorded, such as: fibrinogen, haptoglobin (HP), serum amyloid A (SAA);
C reactive protein (CRP); ceruloplasmin (CER), major acute phase protein (MAP) and α1 acid
glycoprotein (AGP) (Stahl, 1987; Gruys et al., 2005); differentiating their levels according to each
species (Cray et al., 2009; Eckersall and Bell, 2010). Thus, APP have been described for their
application in human medicine to diagnose and prognosticate different inflammatory and organ
diseases. However; altered levels of APP monitored in animals might provide an alternative method to
measure conditions or situations that may be influencing the concentration of these proteins in plasma
(Tothova et al., 2014). For instance, in livestock; APP have been presented as markers of health

Public Health Professional Associations
There are several Public Health Professional Associations/Organizations that can be accessed whether
a student or MPH (Masters in Public Health) graduate. The number one organization is APHA
(American Public Health Association) who has services like: membership, newsletters, a professional
journal, meetings, and webinars (American Public Health Association, 2015). I cannot afford to join
now, but will upon graduation, utilizing as much as possible on the site. They also have internships
and fellowships, but they all take place in Washington D.C. Nevertheless, students and graduates can
take advantage of the job search and sign up for job alerts. I will also follow them on social media and
LinkedIn.
The next association that I would like to be a member of is: SOPHE (Society for Public Health
Education). Students as well as graduates can join and they have multiple chapters around the United
States and participate on social media. I plan on attending meetings that are local, as well as digital
webinars, summits, and signing up for their newsletter and other professional publications (Society for
Public Health Education, 2015). They, too, have a career center that I will access on a regular basis
until I have secured a position as a health practitioner. Although, I have little experience but one class

  • 2. “No One Knowingly Does Evil” by Socrates. Essay The argument which I am focusing on is titled No One Knowingly Does Evil and is written by Socrates. This argument concludes that those who do evil things do them involuntarily. That is, people do not necessarily want to do evil things, but do them against their will. A very important point is presented by Socrates in that evil deeds are not done willingly. It is thought by many that some people are simply evil natured and commit evil deeds because they want to. However, Socrates is arguing that this is not true. By doing this, he is going against common thought and presenting a very debatable conclusion. I will evaluate the argument so as to prove it is a legitimate possibility for the conclusion to be true. It will be shown why ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I think the key to this statement being false is the word all. Sometimes, people want to cause harm to someone else in order to get back at them or to serve justice. If they think they are justified, that person would be more willing to commit an evil act. The second premise, in my opinion, is true. I do not think that a person, without outside influence, would simply do something which they do not want to. If it is not something a person wants to do, chances are it won t be done. Therefore, I think this premise is true. When evaluating the entire argument as a whole, I determined it to be valid. It is logical to move from premise one to premise two and develop the provided conclusion. Even though I believe premise one to be false, the argument is still valid. This is because, if it were true, it would make sense to draw that conclusion from those two statements. The conclusion does not present any new information not given in the premises either. The argument automatically becomes unsound because premise one is false. It is impossible for the argument to be sound by definition. I believe one objection would be that in certain circumstances there are dire needs. That is, someone would do an evil deed because it was absolutely necessary. For example, if a family had been kidnapped, there would be everything done in order to bring them home safely, even if some of it involved a form of evil. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As Americans, we fight, we bully, we have nasty arguments, because we hold a different opinion or said something slightly offensive. We find it easier to raise our fist than to raise our dignity and peacefully talk or walk away. There are cases of violent acts all over the news, movies, music, TV, and social media. Violence is a problem within our commutes, however violence is not what makes an American or what defines America. It is our ability to come together in the face of adversity, in our darkest hour, that moment when everyone expects us to be out of the count, we pick each other up and fight back. JetBlue has great ideas on how to compete and how to be lower priced while still gaining profit. Customer and provider gaps are all about what a customer expects, what a customer perceives, what a customer is willing to accept, what a company understands about those expectations, a company s communication both internal and external, and the company systems and processes (Zeithaml, et al.,2013). Since the beginning of time mankind has fought with itself, whether it be through disagreements, disrespect, feuds, or even over the smallest of matters. For example, one of the biggest feuds in American history that just ended recently was between the Hatfield s and McCoy s. This just shows you how petty, ignorant, and uncivilized we as a people can become. However, the greatest and most crucial feud of all was between the entire Native American Nation and the United States of America. This war of hate and disrespect towards tribes of people and their culture is uncalled for and has left a stain that will last forever in time. We choose not to realize the great impact it had on the Native American Nation, and most of what really happened is not mentioned in the text books that we have today. Instead we focus more on the three main academics which are reading, writing, and arithmetic. Doing so has left many people clueless about the events that have occurred in the past, and I think the main reason for this is caused by the American government being embarrassed about what they did to a people who meant no harm, a culture that only lashed out due to the European American settlers drawing first blood. This is why I decided to do my essay on this topic. The truth needs to be heard, and the reasoning for all the massacres, the violation of countless treaties, and how we impacted the way of life for the Native Americans needs to be told. • 10. Mainstreaming Of Children With Disabilities Mainstreaming of Children with Disabilities One of the most important factors in a well, social functioning child with a disability is education. Proper education will offer a child the opportunity to be successful on a higher level than a child without an education. When a child enters the school system they are entering in an environment that is unfamiliar and challenging. Children with physical disabilities and lack of full cognitive reasoning, sense their differences around other children. According to Welsh, Parke, Widaman, O Neil, 2001; Social ability can have a significant impact on a child s academic success in the classroom . Social skills are a very important factor when it comes to educating children with disabilities. Lack of social skills could show feelings of anxiety and depression which will affect their learning. A child with anxiety and or depression would probably be noticeable to other children causing social awkwardness. Physical disabilities can also be a social challenge in any setting, curiosity of the unknown by surrounding children can present insecurities for a child with a physical disability. This may cause a child to retreat from social activities, because they fear the questions, staring and difference of treatment. Was Tsar Nicholas Emperor Unfit Tsar Nicholas II of Russia: An Emperor Unfit to Rule Ravaged Russia At the end of the nineteenth century, Tsar Nicholas II of Russia reluctantly took command of an empire overflowing with revolutionaries who were seeking change in response to hardships that their nation was facing. His timid personality, coupled with his lack of political education and military experience, made him unfit to calm the war fueled chaos that would soon envelop Russia. Nicholas series of unfortunate, unprepared and uninformed decisions began with his marriage and eventually ended with his decision to abandon the capital to lead his armies, ultimately leading to the demise of his imperial family s three hundred year dynastic tradition. The turn of the century illuminated Russia, commonly labeled as backwards by the other European powers, as the last remaining European autocracy. Russian society still operated on the estate system, which was characterized by an enormous gap between the upper class nobility and the lower class peasantry. Peasants comprised eighty percent of the population and only a fraction were educated. They had little understanding of government and were highly patriarchal. Many served as serfs. It was not until the 1860s that these serfs were freed from legal bondage by Nicholas grandfather, Alexander II. However, this was not enough to satisfy Russian citizens newfound taste of freedom. The son knows that death is the inevitable end to every life, but feels one should not give up to death too easily. By using metaphor, imagery, and repetition, Thomas reinforces the son s message that aging men see their lives with sudden clarity and realize how they might have lived happier, more productive lives. These men rail against fate, fighting for more time to set things right. The son uses dark and the end of day as metaphors for death. He ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The son also mentions good men who do not die peacefully. These men despair that their feeble deeds did not accomplish enough. Even though they were good men, they feel they could have done so much more if given the time. The son next tells his father how wild and grave men also struggled with death. Wild men spent their lives frivolously, wishing time on its way. They learn when it is too late that they hurried time too fast and now they cannot recapture what they so wantonly spent. Their lives were foolishly wasted. The son also mentions grave or serious men who review their lives with a swift lucidity when death is upon them. These solemn, sober men now realize life could have been more joyous had they been a little more blind. If life is taken a little less seriously, one could blaze like meteors and be gay. Repetition at the end of each stanza is effectively used to reinforce the message to fight back against death. While interactionists perspective explains why society functions the way it does as well, it is more of the explanation of why individuals function and interact the way they do in society, and how one can be influenced and what influences one another. Functionalist see society like the human body. In the same way that the body relies on the lungs to. Death and distribute oxygen throughout the body and brain, functionalist also see society similarly as being constructed of different interdependent components such as education, religion, and family. Just as the human body would stop functioning if the lungs stopped breathing or the heart stopped pumping blood throughout the body, society would also fail if education, family, or even religion was no longer functioning. This measure is based on the theory that children in single parent homes are at greater risk than those in two parent families and the best solution is marriage. In short, the federal government is rewarding states for encouraging marriage, a very personal decision. How do states measure the results of having more couples getting married? Over the past five years, the federal government has also found it difficult to measure improvement in states. These repercussions manifest themselves in many degrees, from injury to glory to the downfall of a kingdom. This idea of causality is explored within lines 1440 to 1490 of Beowulf as its eponymous character prepares for battle against Grendel s Mother. Through reinforcing the significance of weaponry and armor, the importance of protecting both self and legacy, and the impact characters have on others choices of the future, this passage develops the motivation behind the choices of the characters throughout the poem centering on their continual focus on leaving a legacy through their future actions. These acknowledgements develop the complex relationship between desiring a safe future for oneself but also the desire to provide a safe future for others. Beowulf begins the passage indifferent to death, focused on achieving his task of killing Grendel s Mother (1442). This indifference, attributed to the story s most well loved character, implies that warriors should focus on the tasks ahead of them rather than the distant future. However, when considering the fight s impact on the future, Beowulf equally wishes to protect himself and those around him. He specifically wears his helmet to guard his head during the fight, protecting and emphasizing the most important aspect of his body (1448). Beowulf for the first time acknowledges that he has become more than a warrior. He symbolizes his motivation to protect his thoughts and essence and takes action to prepare for the tumultuous future dependent on not just his strength, but his being.Contrasting Beowulf s regard for the future is Unferth s lack of forethought when he was not man enough to risk .. his life (1467 1468). Because Unferth places more value in his own life than his legacy, he is seen as lesser than Beowulf. This explains Unferth earlier in the story, as his ignorance again causes him to resemble an enemy when he allows himself to become jealous and enraged at Beowulf. In addition to implying that risking one s life is positive, this acknowledgement of risk foreshadows future risks in the story and provides reason for each one: to form a better future. The relationship between protection of self and legacy throughout the novel is further complicated when Beowulf states that he shall gain glory or die fighting Grendel s Mother (1491). By offering two options, Beowulf begins to prove that he is a flawed character and further states his insecurity. both his future legacy and his present ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

When the regions are characterized with darkness that is infused with bioluminescence, with extreme pressure, cold temperatures, high biodiversity with over a million species and not even half of the million have not been identified, with slow growth and reproductive rates and with a high sensitivity to the disturbance. Superstitions In Asian American Culture In the dictionary, the definition for superstation is states as, a widely held but unjustified belief in supernatural causation leading to certain consequences of an action or event, or a practice based on such a belief. In my opinion I believe superstitions are beliefs or legends passed down over time that been carried by your past ancestors. Every culture is different, so everyone s beliefs are different as well. But there are some cultures that have common superstitions. Some superstitions are very hard to believe, and some that are very understandable. Superstations can be divided in different subtopics. Asian Americans have general superstitions that they do on a daily schedule. Dreams are a form of superstitions for the reason that certain items or events you dream of have a certain meaning behind it. There are different ways of receiving good luck and that is another type of superstations because as an individual you believe by doing certain things you will receive good luck. • 36. Analysis of the Poem Crossings, by Judith Ortiz Cofer The theme of poem Crossings, by Judith Ortiz Cofer is evaluating and reacting upon the tough decisions that come up in life. The cracks represent the flaws you can find and the inevitable accidents that will occur. But each day more and more fissures / crisscross your path, and like the lines/ on your palms, they mean something. (6 8) These lines show that each days more incidents and troubles, the fissures , will come up in your life, the bad things will happen in your life time, crisscross your path, and like the lines on your palms, they mean something, however, every time you experience a bad accident or disaster, which it seems at the time, you will learn something. It also seems like fate is a big theme in this piece and the human reaction to fate s doings. On lines 8 and 9, on your palms, they mean something/ you cannot decipher, shows fate s working in manufacturing these cracks. What they incidents mean, or what you can learn from them however, is still a mystery because it is brought on by fate, such as the example of lines on your palms, and how some people believe they are a representation of one s future. The lines Finally you must choose between / standing still in the one solid spot / you have found, or you keep moving / and take the risk: / Break your mother s back. (10 14) show the choices humans have to make in relation to the events brought on like fate. This poem describes that like in Romeo and Juliet fate isn t just responsible for Romeo and ... • 37. Saltwater Crocodile Research Paper The Saltwater Crocodile The saltwater crocodile is one of the largest non mammalian creatures. It also lives to about 70 years and weighs about 1200 pounds for a male, and 200 pounds for a female. The length of a male varies between 14 17 ft. While the females length is between 7.5 11 ft. All of these numbers are of averages of adult saltwater crocodiles. Now I will compare four systems of a crocodile to a human. In the circulatory system, the crocodile has a four chambered heart, as well as a double looped circulatory system. They breathe using their lungs in and under water. The saltwater crocodile can be submerged for quite a while. Up to 8 hours as the longest recording ever known. They use conservation of the oxygen and can survive in some sub temperature ponds. This occurs when the crocodile heads too far north. As for humans, we can obviously breathe using our lungs as well. Though we can not submerge and conserve oxygen as a crocodile can. It is the same concept anyway, just made for their own habitat. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It all starts at the super strong jaw of the saltwater crocodile. It can just brutally snap bones of a once living animal, like nothing. Then, it heads south, where the crocodile uses the esophagus and heads past the trachea. It continues on its path to the stomach, where it has incredibly strong digestive acids. It needs this due to the way it devours animals. It goes to the intestines that sort out what is needed and what is not needed. Finally, to remove and dispose the waste, it leaves through the cloaca. All of the main digestive parts are the same to humans, except for the cloaca, or human anus. It is pretty similar, but the crocodile has more of a incomplete disposal. We have a full one, depending on what we eat. The crocodile just has a quick, rapid disposal, not much to work on, just what needs to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. What Is The Mystery Of Jay Gatsby The mystery of Jay Gatsby is the only thing that keep me intrigued at times where the long winded descriptions and adjectives became a bit too much for me. I did not get the concept of the book at first because I thought everything from the beginning to the end would be told from Jay Gatsby s point of view. No one seemed to know anything factual about this man, yet everyone knew of him because of his wealth and lavish parties. I was surprised at how low key the book or rather the author introduced him, physically. I thought he would have a grand entrance, not something so understated and subtle. The extravagant parties he hosted prompted me to believe he was more like the rich people in this book, snobby and arrogant. Now I have the impression ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

System Security Monitoring System Security Monitoring UOPX CMGT/442 November 5, 2012 Henry Rivera Jr. Every organization has risks and it is extremely critical for them to identify what these risks are and to mitigate and avoid further damages in case of disastrous events. These disastrous events can be prevented by designing and implementing a robust security monitoring system and utilizing industry proven practices and activities. Information Security refers to safety of information in terms of confidentiality, integrity, availability, and non repudiation (Byrnes amp; Proctor, 2002). The system must also be able to examine any workstation s current installed applications and determine whether or not updated versions exist. Any unnecessary or redundant data from the logs must be extracted out as well. Security monitoring does not just stop at the monitoring level. The security system must be able to protect the data collected from the security monitoring system itself. Any vulnerabilities and holes will leave the security monitoring system ineffective and render it useless, especially in cases of modification and tampering. Tampered data will never result to meaningful conclusions. Activity data must be confidential and regarded as sensitive. The system must be able to compare negative and positive data and figure out which priority levels are given to each data and event. Another important aspect is that the security monitoring systems and activities do not hinder or get in the way of the business operations (Fry, amp; Nystrom, 2009). In an event of intrusion or security disaster, a security audit must be put into action immediately to avoid further damages. The first thing to conduct is to confirm that a security breach or ... Edith Wharton, a Pulitzer Prize winning American novelist and short story writer is markedly unique, insisting on order, form, standards and disciplines which curb the romantic individualism. In addition to her fifteen novels, she has to her credit, seven novellas, and eighty five short stories, poems, books on design, travel, literary and cultural criticism, and a memoir. Her writing is classical and it reveals the instability of human nature, the impossibility of perfection of human beings and the doctrine of inevitable material progress. • 42. Analysis Of Katharine Kolcaba s Comfort Theory Comfort theory was created in the 1990 s by Katharine Kolcaba who was performing research on the analysis of comfort across many disciplines (Petiprin, 2016). From her research, she created a theory of nursing based upon three major forms of comfort that humans need to achieve wellness (Petiprin, 2016). They include: relief, ease and transcendence. Relief is the feeling obtained by patients as needs are being met (Petiprin, 2016). Ease is what patients feel when they are relaxed and have the sense of comfort that their needs have been met and they no longer need to feel anxious (Petiprin, 2016). Transcendence is the ability for patients to use their sense of comfort to rise above any struggles and conflicts they may be facing (Petiprin, 2016). Overall, Kolcaba defines her theory and comfort in general as the immediate state of being strengthened through having the human needs for relief, ease, and transcendence addressed in four contexts of experience (physical, psychospiritual, sociocultural, and environmental) (Kolcaba DiMarco, 2005). By using this theory in a hospital environment, Kolcaba hoped that comfort levels would be increased for all patients, staff and visitors and that patient health would improve as a result of this theory implementation (Boudiab Kolcaba, 2015). • 43. Comparing Beaks Of Eagles And Sara Teasdale s Poem The Flight In Robinson Jeffers poem The Beaks of Eagles and Sara Teasdale s poem The Flight , both authors incorporate an eagle to explore the human fundamentals of love and attachment. Jeffers utilizes the eagle in a way to explain the ideas of independency and the idea of moving on: her mate was shot long ago, she is now mated with a son of hers (7 9). Teasdale, however, uses the eagle to explore the themes of dependency. He depicts that if one dies the other can not live without them: When one of us goes, Let the other follow. (13 14) Both convey these themes with a melancholic tone as too show how in the end, death is what tests the nature of human beings. In The Beaks of Eagles , Jeffers portrays the eagle as an independent being. The being in this case represents a woman who has seen the worst in the world but still manages to stay intact: The she eagle is old, her mate was shot long ago, she is now mated with a son of her . (7 9) This notion conveys the fact that she has seen death and did not let it wound her forever. Jeffers goes on further to say that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These are plasma proteins which are released into the blood stream, mainly produced in the liver by the hepatocytes (Cray et al., 2009) as part of the Acute Phase Response (APR), that either increase or decrease in response to the tissue damage (Jain et al., 2011; Stahl, 1987; Gruys et al., 2005). The APR is a non specific and complex systemic reaction, part of the early defense or innate immune system, which is triggered by different stimuli such as infections, trauma and inflammations in order to reconstitute homeostasis and induce healing (Cray et al., 2009; Tothova et al., 2014). As well as in humans, APP in animals are sensitive to similar triggering events in response to inflammatory stimuli. A variety of APP have been recorded, such as: fibrinogen, haptoglobin (HP), serum amyloid A (SAA); C reactive protein (CRP); ceruloplasmin (CER), major acute phase protein (MAP) and α1 acid glycoprotein (AGP) (Stahl, 1987; Gruys et al., 2005); differentiating their levels according to each species (Cray et al., 2009; Eckersall and Bell, 2010). Thus, APP have been described for their application in human medicine to diagnose and prognosticate different inflammatory and organ diseases. However; altered levels of APP monitored in animals might provide an alternative method to measure conditions or situations that may be influencing the concentration of these proteins in plasma (Tothova et al., 2014).
