- 2. What is the Complex Sentence?

Pattern : Subject + Predicate+Subordinator/Relative+ Subject+ Predicate A sentence that contains one main clause or independent clause and at least one subordinate clause or dependent clause joined together. complex sentences are often formed by putting these words at the beginning of the dependent clause: as, as if, before, after, because, though, even though, while, when, whenever, if, during, as soon as, as long as, since, until, unless, where, and wherever. These words are called subordinating conjunctions. Example : We visited the museum before it closed. Ind.clause Dep. clause Complex sentences are often more effective than compound sentences because a complex sentence indicates clearer and more specific relationships between the main parts of the sentence. complex sentence definition

- 5. Difference Between Simple, Compound and Complex Sentence Simple sentence or a simple phrase had understanding and comprehension by means simple. It appears from the simplicity of the sentence structure that consists only of the subject and predicate ,. Although only one clause, this sentence already have the meanings intact. So one clause that called Independent (stand-alone), alias clause does not need another to get understood the purpose and meaning. Pattern :Subject + Predicate Example: My father is a police. - 6. Means the combined compound. This means the compound sentence is a long sentence consisting of a combination of two or more clauses. What needs to be noted here is the status of the two clauses have own their own independence. That is like a two clauses were separated, each one can still understand the meaning and intent. 2 clause referred to as Independent Clause. There are some sentences coordinator, namely, for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so and generally to facilitate their learning shortened to FANBOYS.
