This document presents WS-OLSR, a novel routing methodology based on the Wingsuit Flying Search algorithm to optimize multi-point relay (MPR) selection in vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs). By minimizing the number of MPRs needed to cover a significant portion of mobile nodes, the approach aims to enhance throughput and reduce broadcasting storms and control traffic. The study overviews challenges in VANETs, particularly routing and broadcasting issues, while discussing the limitations of existing MPR selection methods.
