What do you know about Solids, Liquids and Gases? Brainstorm. Use this to make a title page in your book.
Introduction to Solids, Liquids and Gases. Learning Objectives : To know that materials exist as one of the three states of matter. To be able to classify materials as either solids, liquids or gases. To use previous knowledge to identify materials as solids, liquids and gases.
Put these materials into groups Explain why you have put things into these groups.
Three states of matter solid liquid gas At room temperature most substances exist in one of three physical states.
7G Solids, liquids and gases - It’s a matter of fact!
Summarise the properties of solids, liquids and gases Copy and complete this table
The Three States of Matter Matter can be in one of three “states”. The three states of matter are SOLIDS, LIQUIDS and GASES. What are their properties? Very difficult to squash, can’t be poured, can’t change shape Difficult to squash, can be poured, can change shape Easy to squash, can be poured, can change shape Gas Liquid Solid
7G Solids, liquids and gases - In a state! fixed volume fixed shape gas liquid solid Fill in the table with the answers to these testing questions: Does it have a fixed shape? Does it have a fixed volume?
7G Solids, liquids and gases - In a state! Now answer some more testing questions about a solid, a liquid and a gas. liquid Is it heavy for its size? Can it stretch? Can it spread out? Does it conduct heat well? Is it easy to squash? gas solid
