This document discusses pharmacological and non-pharmacological interventions for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Pharmacological interventions include selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), clomipramine, and antipsychotic medications, which can effectively reduce OCD symptoms in 40-60% of patients, though they may cause side effects like nausea, weight gain, and movement disorders. Non-pharmacological interventions like cognitive-behavioral therapy and exposure and response prevention have also been shown to be highly effective in managing OCD symptoms according to recent literature.
