This document provides tips for writing about cause and effect relationships:
- A cause is what makes something happen, while an effect is what results from the cause. Words like "since", "so", and "because" can connect cause and effect sentences.
- When writing paragraphs about how things work or events unfold, look for the cause that happens first and the subsequent effect.
- Causes should come before effects both temporally and alphabetically (C before E) to clearly convey the relationship between them to readers.
