Introduction – Salesforce CPQ
CPQ Data Model
Post-Installation Steps
• Authorize new calculation service
• Execute post-install scripts
• Change page layout assignments for Account, Contract,
Opportunity, Product and Quote.
Quote creation
• Quote is created on an opportunity
• Products are added in the quote created.
• Products selected can be altered according to the user’s
preference.
Products
• Products can be bundled. The bundle product as well as all the
sub-products included in the bundle.
• A product option refers to a record for each sub-product to
associate with the bundle product. One bundle can have many
Product Options.
• Product Features are optional. Optional products having similar
characteristics can be grouped together using product feature.
Products
• Optional constraints are optional. They ensure that users select
only compatible options.
• Configuration Attributes are optional. Applies its value to your
bundle's fields even if those values aren't shown in your line editor
field set. Inherits the type of the field it targets. For example, if
you target a picklist, the configuration attribute appears as a
picklist with all the targeted field's values.
Contract Creation
• Contract can be created for the subscription products. At least
one product selected must be subscription product.
• To make a contract, the contracted field must be checked on the
opportunity record.
• Subscription products can be found in the contract whereas the
non-subscription products are found as Assets in Account record.
Contract Amendment
• To create an amendment quote, click Amend on your contract or
Amend Contract on your opportunity.
• Salesforce CPQ creates an amendment opportunity and
amendment quote.
• The amendment quote contains all the products from your original
quote.
• You can adjust the quantities of these products or add new
products.
Contract Renewal
• From the Account record, go to the Contracts related list and click again
the Contract Number link, then click Edit and set the following field
values:
• Check the Renewal Forecast checkbox
• Click Save.
• Next, go to the Related tab and note that a Renewal Opportunity record
is now created. You might need to refresh the page if it hasn't appeared
yet.
• If you click Renewal Opportunity from the Renewal Opportunities related
list and click the Related tab, you'll note that there are Opportunity
Products present, one for each subscription product from the contract.
Order Creation
• Salesforce CPQ only creates an order from a quote if the quote’s
Primary checkbox is checked.
• Click Create Order on your opportunity or quote. You can also
select Ordered on your opportunity or quote and then click Save.
• Complete the detail fields, and then save your changes.
• Salesforce CPQ creates an order with order products that cover
the entire quantity of all quote lines on your account.
