What is Computer Systems? • Is part of the Software Development Course • Teaches you about how software affects computer systems • Understanding how the computer components comply with each other and how they fit together • Using the knowledge you gain from computer systems will allow you to build a maintain a computer system to a high standard
- 3. Computer Systems in College • Computer Systems begins with explaining the functions of hardware components and comparing features with two different operating systems. This involves using your knowledge and having the ability to research independently or as a team. • There is also a big chunk of the unit dedicated to building two computer systems, one of the builds relates to a business perspective and the other is linked with building an ‘Overpowered PC Build’

Computer Systems Part 2 • In the next part of the unit you’ll learn about software utilities and how they affect/improve the computer system • You’ll also recommend a computer for a business and how each component is useful • In the unit you will also create a video with audio to installing a hard drive and a computer game which will give you valuable experience • Throughout the unit you’ll relate back to client requirements with annotated screenshots when necessary

Progression of CS • After completion of Computer Systems and software development course in year 1 or 2 you will have the skills and knowledge required to get into work with this qualification on your Curriculum Vitae • There are other opportunities which include moving to higher education at 18 at Vision West Notts or universities around the country.
