100 new colleagues from 5 continents – welcome to FOSS! This week, we had the pleasure of flying in and welcoming around 100 new employees from 18 different countries to the FOSS Innovation Center in Hillerød, Denmark, for FOSS Week – five days packed with energy, insights, and inspiration 💡 We kicked things off with an introduction from Peter Foss, Chairman of the Board. With warmth and humor, he shared the story, mission, and core values of FOSS, “his favorite topic,” as he put it. The Q&A at the end brought plenty of good questions, including: “This might be a controversial question… but why hasn’t the family chosen to sell the company and enjoy the freedom of not having to worry about anything?” Peter’s answer was short, yet heartfelt: “It’s in our blood.” Founded in 1956, this company is deeply rooted in the family and has always been guided by long term, value-based decision-making. As Peter Foss put it: “Profit is like oxygen – you need it to survive, but it can never be the purpose of your business”. The program continued with presentations from CEO Kim Vejlby Hansen and all departments across the company, giving our new colleagues a firsthand look at the instruments and innovations that define FOSS. The event Tuesday wrapped up with a tapas dinner – the biggest FOSS Week dinner we’ve ever seen – and a clear reflection of our growth. In the past 12 months alone, 277 new employees have joined FOSS globally. That’s an average of more than 20 new faces every month! We’re thrilled to welcome all our new staff 🤝

69 years of innovation, dedication, and impact.     FOSS turns 69 and we are celebrating at our 20 sites around the world.    Since July 2, 1956, FOSS has been at the forefront of transforming how we analyze, measure, and understand food and agricultural products, helping industries improve quality, efficiency, and sustainability.    Over nearly seven decades, we have grown into a global leader, offering advanced analytical solutions, software, and services that make a real difference for food and agribusiness around the world.    This is not just about age – it’s about progress.    We want to thank and celebrate every colleague, past and present, whose talent and commitment have driven our success.     As part of the celebration, we have captured some of this year’s achievements – swipe through the slider and take a look!

🌳 The park at Frederiksborg Castle was filled with the FOSS spirit for the 15th time! Around 150 FOSS employees braved the rain and brought energy and life to the beautiful park at Frederiksborg Castle in Hillerød, Denmark – proudly wearing this year’s blue shirts for the annual FOSS Run. Hillerød has been the home of FOSS since it all started in 1956, which makes it especially meaningful to host our traditional run right here. As always, our CEO Kim Vejlby Hansen kicked off the race – and from there, it was full speed ahead. Whether running or walking, the focus was on community and shared experiences. And for some, perhaps: a race against the rain. Events like this strengthen bonds across teams and departments. The run is all about having fun and staying active together. 

A special tribute to Nils Foss – while celebrating 20 years of the Danish-Chinese Business Forum (DCBF).     FOSS had the pleasure of hosting the 20th anniversary dinner for the Danish-Chinese Business Forum – an organization that holds a special place in our company’s history.    DCBF was founded in 2005 on the initiative of our founder, Nils Foss, who brought together 15 leading Danish export companies with a shared vision of strengthening commercial and economic ties between Denmark and China. Nils Foss was elected the first Chairman of the Board, helping lay the foundation for a strong and lasting collaboration.    Today, DCBF is a thriving, independent, non-profit network with more than 135 members across industries, including companies, universities, and municipalities – all committed to fostering Danish-Chinese business relations.    At FOSS, we have seen the importance of these ties firsthand. We established our presence in China in 1997 with a sales and service company in Beijing, followed by our production hub in Suzhou in 2009. We are proud of our connection to DCBF and honored to have been part of this important network.

Our 2024 result is out!    FOSS is announcing another record-breaking year of innovation with an all-time high operating profit of 640 million DKK.     We achieved a strong 6% growth in revenue in 2024. This was driven by strong performance across multiple regions and business segments.    With innovation deeply rooted in our company DNA, FOSS is dedicated to investing above industry average in research and development. The Food Analytics Conference builds on presentations and poster pitches by inspiring guest speakers and leading food scientists from all over the world. An important part of that is to celebrate those who make a difference with their hard work.     That happened at the end of the afternoon when The Nils Foss Prizes were awarded to the new 2024 laureate and talent.      The Nils Foss Excellence Prize 2024 was awarded to Professor Rudolf Krska from University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU) and the Institute for Global Food Security. The Nils Foss Talent Prize was presented to Co-Principal Investigator Leonie Johanna Jahn from DTU - Technical University of Denmark. In the legacy of Nils Foss, the prizes have the primary purpose of honoring the scientific community within agriculture, feed, food, and analytical technologies. It recognizes the important research in this community, research that is key to ensuring food quality and food safety, provided in a sustainable way to an ever-growing global population.    Let’s celebrate and honor the two recipients for their important contribution to food science!
