- 4. BIOGRAPHY María Antonia Blasco Marhuenda (nació en 1965), conocida como María Blasco es una bióloga molecular española. Blasco formó parte del Laboratorio Cold Spring Harbor en Nueva York como profesora colaboradora tras su doctorado bajo el liderazgo de Carol W. Greider. María Antonia Blasco Marhuenda (born 1965), known as María Blasco is a Spanish molecular biologist. Blasco joined the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York as a Postdoctoral Fellow under the leadership of Carol W. Greider.

- 7. Carmen Galán Soldevilla (Córdoba, 1958) is a Professor of Botany at the University of Córdoba. She is recognized as one the leading experts in the field of aerobiology, mainly those who speak of pollen levels and pollution in the atmosphere. She has chaired the International Association of Aerobiology, since 1998, coordinates the Spanish Network of aerobiology and she is a member of the Spanish Committee against Climate Change and the Andalusian Councils on the Environment and Biodiversity. Her scientific activity has been recognized internationally with several awards granted in Spain, France, Canada and Finland. In 2010, the Governing Council of the Junta de Andalucía awarded him the Andalusian medal. Among the many research projects that he has directed, stand out those referring to pollen analysis as bioindicators of the effects of climate change on Andalusian ecosystems. BIOGRAPHY
- 8. Carmen Galán Soldevilla, (Córdoba, 1958 es catedrática de Biología Vegetal en la Universidad de esta ciudad y está reconocida como una de las principales expertas en el campo de la aerobiología. Desde 1998 coordina la Red Española de Aerobiología. Asimismo, es responsable por España de la Red MedAeronet y de la ‘European Aeroaller-gen Network/ European Pollen Information’, así como miembro del Comité Español contra el Cambio Climático y del Consejo Andaluz de Biodiversidad. Su actividad docente y científica ha sido reconocida internacionalmente con diversos galardones otorgados en España, Francia, Canadá y Finlandia. En 2010 el Consejo de Gobierno de la Junta de Andalucía le concedió la medalla de Andalucía. Entre los muchos proyectos de investigación que ha dirigido, destacan los referentes al análisis polínico como bioindicadoresde los efectos del cambio climático en los ecosistemas andaluces. - 10. Elena Yubero Sánchez was born in Córdoba. She works in Instituto Maimónides de Investigaciones Bioquímicas de Córdoba. She worked in the National Institute on Aging (NIH, Baltimore) and then 2 years at the Mount Sinai Hospital, in New York. On her return to Córdoba, she joined the IMIBIC where she is investigating to prevent diseases. She is now seeing the relationship between heart disease and the Mediterranean diet. BIOGRAPHY
- 11. Elena Yubero Sánchez nació en Córdoba. Ella trabaja en el Instituto Maimónides de Investigaciones Bioquímicas de Córdoba. Trabajó en el Instituto Nacional sobre el Envejecimiento (NIH, Baltimore) y luego 2 años en el Hospital Mount Sinai, en Nueva York. A su regreso a Córdoba, se unió al IMIBIC donde está investigando para prevenir enfermedades. Ella ahora está viendo la relación entre la enfermedad cardíaca y la dieta mediterránea. BIOGRAFÍA

- 14. Margarita Salas Falgueras, born 30 November 1938, commonly known as Margarita Salas, is a well-known Spanish scientist in the fields of Biochemistry, and Molecular Genetics. She graduated in chemistry at the Complutense University Madrid and obtained a PhD degree in 1961. In 1967, she travelled to the USA to work with Severo Ochoa. Salas won : 1999: National Research Award Santiago Ramon y Cajal. 1999: Award L'Oreal - UNESCO for "Women in Science". 2009: Women Leader Award 2009, awarded by the Rafael del Pino, Aliter and Merck Foundation. 2009: Award "An entire professional life" of the Mapfre Foundation.
- 15. Margarita Salas Falgueras, nacida el 30 de noviembre de 1938, comúnmente conocida como Margarita Salas, es una científica española muy conocida en el mundo de Bioquímica y Genética Molecular.. Se graduó en Química en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y obtuvo un doctorado en 1961, con el supervisor Alberto Sols (CSIC). En 1967, viajó a los Estados Unidos para trabajar con Severo Ochoa. - 17. Rita Levi-Montalcini,(Turín 1909- Roma 2012). Fue una química científica italiana especializada en neurología. Descubrió el primer factor de crecimiento conocido, el factor de crecimiento nervioso, por el que en 1986 recibió el Premio Nobel de Fisiología o medicina compartido con Stanley Cohen. Al terminar la 2ª Guerra mundial, emigró a los Estados Unidos, donde trabajó en el laboratorio Viktor Hamburger del instituto de Zoología de la universidad de Wasinghton en San Luis.
- 18. Rita Levi-Montalcini (Turin,22 of April of 1909-Rome,30 of December of 2012) She was an Italian chemistry especialized on neurology. She discovered the first growth factor, the nervous growth by which in 1986 she received the Nobel Prize on Physiology or medicine shared with Stanley Cohen. Once the 2nd World War ended, she emigrated to the USA, where she worked in the laboratory of Viktor Hamburger of the Institute of Zoology in the University of Washington in San Louis.

Rachel Louise Carson (27 de mayo 1907 - 14 de abril 1964) fue una bióloga marina americana, escritora y conservacionista cuyo libro Silent Spring y otras de sus obras están relacionados con el avance del movimiento global del medio ambiente. También inspiraron a los miembros del movimiento medioambiental a la creación de la U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Trabajó durante 15 años como bióloga, científica y editora. Sus libros fueron muy importantes en la ayuda del crecimiento del movimiento medioambiental. Su bestseller The Sea Around Us ganó el U.S. National Book Award en 1952. Su siguiente libro, The Edge of the Sea, y la versión reeditada de su primer libro, Under the Sea Wind, también fueron bestsellers. Ganó una beca Guggenheim en 1951 y la Medalla Presidencial de la Libertad en 1980.

Rachel Louise Carson (born May 27, 1907 - died April 14, 1964) was an American marine biologist, author and conservationist whose book Silent Spring and other writings are credited with advancing the global environmental movement. It also inspired a grassroots environmental movement that led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. She worked for 15 years as a biologist, scientist and editor. Her books were very important in helping the environmental movement grow. Her bestseller The Sea Around Us won the U.S. National Book Award (1952). Her next book, The Edge of the Sea, and the reissued version of her first book, Under the Sea Wind, were also bestsellers. She won a Guggenheim grant in 1951 and the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1980.

- 23. Biografía Dame Jane Morris Goodall (Londres, 3 de abril de 1934, con el nombre de Valerie Jane Morris Goodall) es una primatóloga, etóloga, antropóloga y mensajera de la paz de la ONU inglesa. Se le considera la mayor experta en chimpancés, y es conocida por su estudio de 55 años de duración sobre las interacciones sociales y familiares de los chimpancés salvajes en el Parque Nacional Gombe Stream en Tanzania. Es la fundadora del Instituto Jane Goodall y el programa Roots & Shoots (Raíces y Brotes). Ha trabajado extensivamente en asuntos de conservación y bienestar animal. Pertenece al comité del Proyecto de los Derechos No Humanos desde su fundación en 1996.
- 24. Biography Dame Jane Morris Goodall (London, April 3, 1934, by the name of Valerie Jane Morris Goodall) is a primatologist, ethologist, anthropologist, and messenger of peace at the ONU. She is considered the greatest expert in chimpanzees, and is known for her 55-year study on the social and family interactions of wild chimpanzees in the Gombe Stream National Park in Tanzania. She is the founder of the Jane Goodall Institute and the Roots & Shoots program (Roots & Shoots Buds). He has worked extensively on conservation and animal welfare issues. He belongs to the Committee on the Non-Human Rights Project since its foundation in 1996.
