- 5. Para • Indicates : – destination or specific time • “in order to” • Examples: – El vaso es para los refrescos. – Necesito el papel para el martes.
- 6. IOP • Tells us what the Direct Object is doing. • Can be placed in three places: – 1. Before a conjugated verb Ex. Juan me compra un regalo. – 2. Attached to an infinitive Ex. Necesitas darme un regalo. – 3. Attached to a gerund Ex. Estoy explicandoles la lección.
- 7. Object Pronoun Placement • Attaches to: – An infinitive (to + verb) – A progressive tense – An affirmative command • Before a conjugated verb • Examples – Adela va a practicarlo. – Voy a hacerla.
- 8. Gustar Yo Me Nosotros Nos Me gusta jugar fútbol. Nos gustan los refrescos. Tú Te ¿Te gusta comer papas fritas? El Ellos Ella Le Ellas Les Ud. Uds. A Carlos le gustan los carros. Les gustan los anillos.
- 9. Affirmatives and Negatives Affirmatives Negatives Claro Nunca Cierto Nada Algo Nadie Alguien Ninguno Alguno Tampoco
- 10. Superlatives • Have suffixes attached to adjective and adverb. – -ísimo/a mal>malísimo – -ísimos/as muchas>muchísimos • If adv or adj ends in c, g, or z change spelling to qu, gu, &c. – Rico>Riquísimo • If adv or adj ends in –n or –r add císimo/a – joven> jovencísimo
- 11. Reflexives • When a person does as well as receives the action. Me Nos • Positions: – In front of conjugated verb Te – Attached to: • a gerund • infinitive • and an affirmative Le Les command.

- 13. Negative Tú Commands/ Irregulars/ Pronoun Placement • Change to “YO” form Tener> No Tengas Ser> No seas • Change vowel • Add “S” Venir>No Vengas Hacer> No Hagas • Examples: – No vengas Dar> No Dé aqui! Decir>No Digas Estar> No Estés – No me digas! • TV DISHES Ir> No vayas Saber>No Sepas
- 14. Sequencing of Events • Primero- First • Entonces- Then • Luego/Despues- Later/After • Por Fin- Finally • Antes De/Despues De- Before/After • Por la mañana/noche/tarde- In the morning/night/afternoon • Los lunes, etc.– Days of the week
