The construction of the Wichita Biomedical Campus has been making significant progress in Downtown Wichita. The WBC will combine Wichita State University, WSU Tech, and the University of Kansas in a state-of-the-art facility. The new space will foster interdisciplinary collaboration and improve the future of healthcare for communities in downtown Wichita and surrounding areas. "Sometimes when we learn in our individual silos, we don't put enough emphasis on the team approach — understanding each skill set, what they have and can do for patient care. I think that (the new campus) is going to give us more opportunity to have students working together as a team, because when you get out into the real world, that's what happens," said Lynn Fisher, M.D., Associate Professor in the KU Wichita Department of Family & Community Medicine. IN Kansas City Magazine has named its 2025 Innovators and Influencers, an impressive group of changemakers who have left their mark on the Kansas City metro. Helix President and Principal Erika Moody, FIIDA was recognized for the impact she has made through leadership, design excellence, and mentorship. Erika’s influence is driven by her passion for serving her civic and professional communities. She was recently named a member of the UMKC Board of Trustees, in addition to serving on the University of Kansas Medical Center Advancement Board. Additionally, Erika just completed her tenure as President of the International Interior Design Association (IIDA) Board of Directors, leading the international organization during an exciting time of growth. The JE Dunn Headquarters construction is nearly complete, with each floor designed to foster collaboration and a sense of community. Helix President, Erika Moody, was a part of the original interior design and is keeping the same core values in mind as she leads the interior renovation. The Kansas City University Joplin campus has begun construction on the new Center for Population Health and Equity. CPHE is designed to boost connection between the existing medical and dental wings, creating a seamless flow throughout the building. KCU will leverage the CPHE to strengthen its community partnerships and build new relationships in the pursuit of improving health outcomes.
