Compensation: High $100Ks – Low $200Ks base salary + ~15% bonus

Hybrid flexibility with some office presence.

We are seeking a Finance Director to lead the financial and operational oversight of our project-based construction business. This role goes beyond traditional accounting and it requires someone who can bridge finance, accounting, and operations, and take full ownership of financial performance from pricing through production and closeout. The Finance Director will serve as a strategic partner to leadership while also managing local staff and contributing to future multi-location growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead finance and accounting operations within a project-based or construction environment.
• Oversee and manage Work In Progress (WIP) schedules, project accounting, and cost-to-complete processes on a weekly and monthly basis.
• Monitor and drive financial performance, ensuring accurate forecasting, analysis, and reporting.
• Engage directly in operational processes, including the work acquisition cycle, project pricing, and review of contractual terms that impact payments and risk.
• Partner with operational leadership to ensure financial insights drive decision-making and project success.
• Manage and mentor local staff while supporting broader company initiatives and future expansion.
• Facilitate some local marketing initiatives to enhance regional business presence.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in finance and accounting within project-based or construction industries.
• Hands-on background in WIP management, cost-to-complete, and project accounting
• Strong operational acumen, with the ability to connect financials to real-world project drivers.
• Track record of bridging finance, accounting, and operations rather than functioning as a back-office accountant.
• Background may come from either accounting (CPA preferred) but the person must have transitioned into more of a FP&A focused role.
• Demonstrated leadership and drive, with the ability to act as a partner to executives and scale influence across multiple locations.
