Yoga.......my contribution to society

Yoga.......my contribution to society

My Yoga Study experience in New Delhi at the Seema Sondhi Yoga Studio last year was one of the best decisions I have ever undertaken. To have the opportunity to dedicate my whole day to asana practice and yogic philosophy was like a dream come true.

Coming together in a class of wonderful women who had the same objective and same purpose was also a wonderful feeling.

Since graduating from Seema’s Studio I have three dedicated students who are committed and consistent in their practice and that makes me happy. We don’t call them lessons; we call it a Yoga journey, we feel that as student and teacher we are going on a journey together.

Recently I returned to India for a visit and took a few more classes at Seema’s studio, it was wonderful to be back and I found how much my self-practice has helped me.

Over the last few years the passion I had for spirituality has been growing and becoming more intense. It was making me dream and in 2016, I channeled that through Yoga.

Going to India to learn yoga was terrifying and amazing at the same time, but that was exactly why I pursued it. It is exactly what I thought it would be, and more.

Since coming back from India, there is never a day that I have skipped Yoga practice, even on my busiest days I will make sure I dedicate time to this spiritual practice that gives me balance and an open heart and mind.

Teaching yoga and being YAI Certified is important to me because Yoga is a gift that keeps giving. It is a gift that was given to me by Seema and now it is a gift I want to pass on to others. It is my contribution to my society and to the world.

During my studies Seema shared a thought with me that I will never forget “If you don’t contribute to society, you are a thief.” I know for sure yoga helps people decrease their stress levels and if you have a less stressed society you have a happier society. Happier people are usually nicer people and by teaching Yoga I will be making a contribution to my society and the world.
