Preparation
• Research everything you can about the
company you’re interviewing for
• Try to find out who you will be interviewing with
• Review your resume
• Prepare answers for each area you may be
asked about
8
Anticipate the common questions

• How your background and skills apply to this
particular position
• What sets you apart from other candidates
they may meet
9
Know your top strengths

• Think about how you have used them to help improve your ability
to do a great job
• Memorize one example of how each strength applies to your
current or past positions

Be ready for the tough parts
• Prepare for the harrowing questions you
may be asked:
- What are your weaknesses?
- Why did you leave your last position?
- Why do you want to leave your current
position?
- Tell me about a challenging situation
and how you overcame it.
• Take a deep breath to consider each
question before answering.
11
When it’s your turn to ask questions
• Wait until you are prompted to ask the questions
you have reserved.
Some questions you may want to ask:
• What are the main factors you’ll use to determine
the right person for this job?
• How do you define success in this position?
• What are the key challenges I would experience
in this position if hired?
12
Practice, practice, practice
• Ask a friend or family member to practice
with you
• They should be asking questions you may
not expect

and general comfort level
• Make sure your responses sound natural
and conversational
