This document presents an investigation of an anisotropic Bianchi type-III cosmological model within the framework of Saez-Ballester scalar-tensor theory of gravitation, focusing on a time-dependent deceleration parameter that allows for a transition from a decelerating phase to the current accelerating phase of the universe. The authors derive exact solutions under certain physical conditions and analyze various parameters, revealing that both the equation of state and skewness parameters are time-dependent. The study validates its model against recent observations suggesting an accelerating universe, indicating its potential as a viable cosmological model.
