This paper discusses the performance improvement of grid-connected wind farm systems focusing on the integration of fixed-speed induction generators and their stability challenges, such as reactive power management and voltage stability. It highlights the effectiveness of Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) devices, particularly the STATCOM, in enhancing system stability during disturbances like three-phase faults. The findings show that using a STATCOM significantly improves both stability and voltage quality, allowing wind turbines to maintain energy delivery post-fault clearance.
