Vectorwise is a high performance in-memory columnar database that was developed to bridge the 100x performance gap between relational databases and custom code. It uses a vectorized execution model to achieve significant performance gains over traditional row-oriented databases. After being acquired by Actian, Vectorwise is now integrated with the Ingres database and delivers fast query response times and affordable analytics capabilities.
