This document describes the various categories and types of web parts available in the SharePoint 2013/O365 Web Part Gallery. It lists web parts for displaying documents, lists, pictures and apps, as well as those related to blogs, external data connection, communities, content rollup, document sets, filtering, media, search, search-driven content, social collaboration, and custom web parts created with HTML and jQuery. Configuration of some web parts requires trial and error. Contact information is provided for questions.

- 1. SharePoint 2013/O365 Web Part Gallery (WPG) …accessing the web part gallery on a SharePoint page Click > the “Gear” icon, Select > “Edit Page” link, Ribbon > “Edit Page”, Click > “Insert” tab, Click > “Web Part” button
- 2. WPG > Categories > Parts > Apps Here you’ll find document, lists (custom, tasks, announcements), picture libraries, custom & store apps.
- 3. WPG > Categories > Parts > Blog Here you’ll find blog related content for archives, notifications & tools…
- 4. WPG > Categories > Parts > Business Data Here you’ll find web parts for connecting, filtering external data… Requires a lot of trial and error.
- 5. WPG > Categories > Parts > Community Here you’ll find community related content from community sites…
- 6. WPG > Categories > Parts > Content Rollup Here you’ll find web parts to connect and rollup content within a site. Requires a lot of trial and error.
- 7. WPG > Categories > Parts > Document Sets Here you’ll find web parts to display contents from document sets.
- 8. WPG > Categories > Parts > Filters Here you’ll find web parts for filtering content. Needs a lot of work. I like the “Query String (URL) filter”.
- 9. WPG > Categories > Parts > Media and Content Here you’ll find web parts to display content, internal or external of a site as well as adding code.
- 10. WPG > Categories > Parts > Search Here you’ll find search related web parts such as refinement, navigation and results.
- 11. WPG > Categories > Parts > Search-Driven Content Here you’ll find search web parts that has Cross-Site Collection Publishing features.
- 12. WPG > Categories > Parts > Social Collaboration Here you’ll find social web parts that has some features of a SharePoint server “MySite” site.
