Right time to expand in India –
CISCO SMART City Solution
Why NOW:
India Government has planned to make 100+ cities SMART by 2022, investing
1000 B$ in a central-state partnership mode.
Connectivity being a key component can easily command a 20% investment share
including hardware and solutioning. Support down the line will be additional
revenue for Cisco.
Progress Slowed down due to Pandemic, which should restart 2022 Q’1.
Once we have a success rate- Cisco can look at Tier – II, Tier III cities and Smart
Villages the rural segment which is worth another 1000 B$ investment in
connectivity space considering 70% of India population stays in these segment.
Zte and Ericssion have already partnering on a small scale with regional
governments. Cisco Needs to act fast or partner with FIWARE foundation.
1200 B$ investment potential in connectivity Space over the next 10-
15 years – considering India will be transforming in multiple stages.
