Nitrogen

Nitrogen was discovered in 1772 by Daniel Rutherford. He
divided or separated oxygen and carbon dioxide, and was
left with a gas that could not support life. He called it
                         "burnt air".

Nitrogen Research (cont.)
              The melting point of
                   Nitrogen:
               -210.1 C, -320.42 F

              The cooling point of
                   Nitrogen:
              -195.79 C, -320.42 F
Nitrogen is:
     Colorless, odorless
 Classified as a non-metal
Crystal structure- Hexagonal
Everyday Uses
Nitrogen is used in many common products such as:

Lightbulbs

Refrigeration devices

Manufacturing stainless steel

POWER SOURCE OF PAINTBALL GUNS
My Element Box...
Represents the physical and chemical uses of Nitrogen.
Throughout the exhibit it shows 3D objects in which
Nitrogen is presently used in, and it states the origin of
Nitrogen. I used a lightbulb to represent one of the many
uses of Nitrogen in everyday life, and I created a model of
                  the atomic structure.
Fun Facts
Nitrogen is responsible for the orange-red, blue-green, blue-
violet, and deep violet colors of the aurora.

Nitrogen compounds are found in foods,
fertilizers, poisons, and explosives. Your
body is 3% nitrogen by weight.
Nitrogen can be used to make ICE
              CREAM!
