- 2. Managing Lots and Serial Numbers in Odoo 13 Inventory In Odoo lots and serial numbers are used generally to track products during the receiving and sales process. Few products are specified a lot number or serial number during the product as the production process. Both lots and serial numbers are used for traceability to track the products. In Odoo Serial & lot numbers is used to easily track product serial & lot numbers. A serial number is a unique number assigned to identify a specific item. A lot number is an identification number assigned to products indicating the batch or lot in which the product was manufactured or processed. In Odoo Lot numbers are used when you make a product in large quantities, with the same set of ingredients or raw materials, and at the same time.
- 3. Configuration: First of all, you have to install the Inventory Apps in your database. Go to Inventory apps -> Configuration ->Settings ->traceability and Check –>Lots and Serial Numbers.
- 4. Now you can tick the checkbox of Lots and Serial Numbers and click on the Save button.
- 5. Under the Configuration of Inventory go to the Warehouse section. Now tick the checkbox of the Multi-Warehouse location and click on the Save button.
- 6. Manage Serial Number in Odoo Serial numbers are properties that can be different for stock items of the same product. Unlike lot ids, there is a one-to-one relationship as a unique number is allotted to a single product. Now go to the products in the purchase module. Choose a product in that you apply for the serial number. Now go to ->Product -> Under the Inventory tab ->Traceability & select the checkbox of -> By Unique Serial Number
- 7. Transfers: Now you can process a transfer of a product that is tracked by serial number, at that time, you can specify the product serial number. After assigning the serial number of the product with tracking features enabled then, first of all, you will require to mark your transfer as to do. Now you can click on the Mark as To-Do button to perform the Lot split icon. Now you can click on the serial number icon:
- 8. After clicking on the Lot split icon button then a window will pop-up. Now you can fill all the required fields in the detailed operation tab. At that time, click on the Add an Item button you need to enter the serial number for each product. Then click on the Confirm and validate button of the product.
- 9. To Configure Operation Types: Now you can configure the Inventory operation Types in the configuration of Inventory. Go to Inventory Apps -> Configuration-> Warehouse Management-> Operation Types and click on the Create button.
- 10. After clicking on the Operation types you can fill all the required fields. Now you can tick the checkbox of create new Lots/Serial number & use existing Lots/Serial number.
- 11. Traceability: After clicking on the Traceability button At that time, you can find the traceability report of the products. Now you can simply trace all products because you can assign the serial number for a single product.
- 12. Manage Lots in Odoo Lots correspond to a specific number of products assigned to a group of products for which are common with particular properties. There is a one-to-many relationship as several products can have the same lot ID. Now you can go to the Sales/Purchase apps and select the product section then tick the checkbox of “By Lots” in the traceability option. Now go to Inventory Apps of the product -> Traceability and select the > By Lots to handle the individual lots of the product.
- 14. In order to process a transfer of a product tracked by lots, you should define its lot numbers. Now you can click on the lot icon and usually assign several lot numbers of the products. Although getting the product, and choose a small icon (Lot split button) can be shown on the right side of the product.
- 15. Now you can select a ‘Lot/Serial Number’ for the product and click on the confirm button.
- 16. To Configure Operation Types: Now you can configure the Inventory operation Types in the configuration of Inventory. Go to Inventory Apps -> Configuration-> Warehouse Management-> Operation Types and click on the Create button.
- 17. After clicking on the Operation types you can fill all the required fields. Now you can tick the checkbox of create new Lots/Serial number & use existing Lots/Serial number.
- 18. Whenever you want to view a Lot/Serial number of the product. Now go to Inventory module ->Lots/Serial Numbers. Choose the product in which you want to trace.
- 19. Traceability: At the same time, the product has been successfully added to the inventory, now you can track the product or the lots in various ways. Now click on the Traceability report button to trace the report of the product.
- 20. Inventory adjustment In Inventory apps, you can track the product serial number that can be done in two ways. Classic inventory by-products and Inventory of a serial number Now you can configure the Inventory Adjustments. Go to Inventory -> Operations -> Inventory Adjustments
- 22. Under the Inventory Adjustment, you can create a new inventory and select on the checkbox of one product only and click on the Start Inventory button.
