This document summarizes a project investigating teaching body language through analyzing video recordings of the author teaching. The author observed how gestures, movements, and mannerisms either reinforce or undermine perceptions of teacher authority. Key findings included that gestures are heavily used to illustrate concepts, solicit student responses, and disseminate information. However, the author's perceptions of their teaching style did not always align with what was observed on video. Making the teaching body visible through this analysis provided valuable self-reflection on performance and communication in the classroom.
