This document discusses the design and simulation of a five-level cascaded H-bridge inverter as a distribution static compensator (DSTATCOM) for improving power factor and eliminating harmonics in power systems. It details the advantages of this inverter, including low harmonic distortion and reduced switching losses, and presents simulation results using MATLAB/Simulink. The findings highlight the effectiveness of the proposed DSTATCOM model in mitigating issues associated with non-linear diode rectifier loads.
