This document analyzes case studies of United Nations peacekeeping operations to identify trends in the evolution of Formed Police Units (FPUs) and develop findings about their future roles. It examines FPU roles, leadership, mandates, size/composition, operations, financing, environments, and political/security contexts in six major and three minor UN peacekeeping missions through interactive timelines. The goal is to understand how FPUs have changed over time in peacekeeping operations.
