This study investigates the accessibility of basic education for indigenous people, specifically focusing on the Ubo-Manobo group in the Marilog district of the Philippines. It highlights various barriers such as poverty, discrimination, and remoteness that hinder their educational opportunities and presents qualitative insights into their perceptions and desires regarding schooling. Despite challenges, some individuals demonstrate resilience and a strong desire to pursue education, underscoring the need for more supportive educational frameworks for indigenous communities.
