This study investigates the spatial distribution of lower basic schools in Rivers State, Nigeria, revealing that the overall pattern is clustered, with specific local government areas demonstrating varying degrees of dispersion. Using descriptive survey design, data from 289 sampled schools were analyzed using nearest neighbor analysis, highlighting issues in equitable access to education due to political and convenience-driven school placement. Recommendations include the establishment of policies for school mapping and the utilization of modern planning tools to enhance educational access and efficiency.
