Statement of Need Maple Middle School's Expectation Going beyond performing well on assessments Being prepared for a future that is ever-changing Being mathematical thinkers and problem solvers  Problems Students are not engaged in learning mathematics Students are focus on memorizing formulas not understanding concepts

Implementation/Timeline Fall 2011 Stakeholders fall 1/2 day meeting & monthly meetings utilization & logistics  integration ideas and collaborative assignments sharing of tiered lessons model teaching, co-teaching, and mini-workshops expectations of iPAD integration  Spring 2011 Stakeholders continue monthly meetings continue monthly planning meetings/mini-workshops ongoing sharing, discussion, and evaluation of iPAD integration
Evaluation What to Evaluate Preparation, integration, facilitation, use, understanding, and perception of success. How to Evaluate Surveys, discussion, and everyday assessment. Whom to Evaluate 6th-8th grade students and math teachers. When to Evaluate Two formal surveys a year, monthly math department meetings involving discussion and analysis, and everyday assessment. Improvement Plan Feedback and evaluations will be used in preparing professional development sessions, possible lesson plan, and alterations to the program.
