Twitter is a service that allows users to share brief updates about what they are doing through short messages. Users can post updates from their computer or phone by signing up on twitter.com or sending a text message. At conferences, Twitter can be used to share information in real-time and as a historical record. Conference attendees are encouraged to include a conference hashtag like "#ncfr08" in their tweets to contribute to an aggregated feed for all conference participants to follow.
