Nomadic computing allows mobile users to access and interact with information from any location using portable devices over wireless networks. It enables users to create, access, and communicate information without being tied to a single location. Current limitations include disconnection, low bandwidth, security and privacy risks, and the wide variety of devices with different capabilities. However, future growth areas for nomadic computing include improving device functionality, increasing bandwidth, and enhancing security. An example project was proposed to create a notification agent that could run on multiple devices and partner with organizations to establish a large install base and address basic notification needs.
