    LANGUAGE FUNCTION — GREETINGS
    Hi!
    Hello!
(Formal) Good morning Good afternoon Good evening

In Canada, people don’t call each other by their last names.
We use a title, Mr. or Mrs., and a last name, when we talk to
strangers or to a boss, teacher, doctor and older people. We
call our friends by their first name.
