This document presents the development of a nanobiosensor using atomic force microscopy (AFM) tips modified with the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme for the detection of the herbicide metsulfuron-methyl. The study highlights significant enhancements in detection sensitivity, achieving a 250% increase in adhesion force when using the functionalized AFM tips compared to unmodified ones, demonstrating the potential for this methodology in identifying various environmental contaminants. The findings underscore the importance of creating effective detection methods for agricultural chemicals due to their potential toxicity to ecosystems and human health.
