WNYC Radio used citizen reports from texts and voicemails during a 2010 New York City snowstorm to create an interactive map showing where snow had and had not been cleared, encouraging further community contributions. ProPublica used government data to create an investigative journalism project about dialysis treatment centers that allowed patients to search and compare options. The Tiziano Project trains young reporters in conflict, post-conflict, and underreported areas to produce videos and documentaries about their communities that have aired on CNN.
