- 3. Remember del.icio.us? Go to del.icio.us/smc_professional Click on the LAME MP3 encoder link – the zip file will save to your computer Unzip the file into My Documents/LAME
- 4. Getting started with Audacity Open the program Go to Edit -> Preferences Select 44.1Khz Check your audio input and output options Go to Start - > Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices Check your microphone settings
- 5. Install the LAME MP3 encoder LAME MP3 is licensed and is not included automatically with Audacity Go to Edit -> Preferences -> File Formats Under MP3 Export Setup, click “Find Library” and navigate to My Documents/LAME/lame_enc.dll Audacity can now export in the MP3 format
- 6. Test Audacity Click the Big Red Button and begin speaking! Click stop Rewind and test your recording
- 7. Background Music We cannot use copyrighted music We can use creative commons music Go to del.icio.us/smc_professional and click on the two creative commons links These artists expect their work will be used in these broad contexts. Download and import into Audacity using Project-> Import Audio
- 8. Save and export These are two different steps: Saving your work creates and audacity file Exporting your work creates an MP3 file Export your file to a logical folder ready to transfer to iTunes
