This document outlines the process of collecting data in the field for a study on factors influencing Thai students' decisions to attend vocational or general high schools. It describes preparing for data collection by designing questionnaires, getting IRB and local approvals, recruiting and training research assistants. Fieldwork involved piloting the survey, collecting data from over 3,800 students across 38 schools with the help of 8 research assistants, and transferring data. Post-fieldwork involved cleaning, transcribing and analyzing the collected data. The document emphasizes the importance of thorough preparation, establishing relationships, and careful execution of data collection for obtaining high quality fieldwork data.
