The Radboud Nanomedicine Alliance (RNA) is a cooperation between Radboud University, Radboudumc and select companies to develop nanomedicine applications. The RNA focuses on two research topics: checking the extracellular matrix of cells and their surroundings, and targeting mitochondrial disorders. Cooperation across disciplines is key, linking scientific research with medical expertise. The RNA aims to bridge the gap between chemical lab research and medical applications. Having medical expertise involved ensures research questions are directed by clinical needs and risks are addressed early. Six PhD positions have been made available to support the research topics. The RNA also aims to attract more industry funding over time and support commercialization of research outcomes.
